Can someone help me finetune this? My main problem seems to be drawing energies. Here's the list.

Pokemon-17
  • 2x Thundurus EX (PF)
  • 2x Vanilluxe (PF)
  • 1x Vanillish (PF)
  • 2x Vanillite (PF)
  • 1x Jolteon (DE)
  • 1x Jolteon (PF)
  • 3x Eevee (PF) (the growl/quick attack one)
  • 2x Lanturn (PF)
  • 3x Chinchou (PF)

Trainers- 28
  • 3x Professor Juniper
  • 3x Energy Retrieval
  • 2x Team Plasma Ball
  • 2x Pokemon Communication
  • 2x Cheren
  • 2x Shadow Triad
  • 2x Reversal Trigger
  • 2x Team Plasma Grunt
  • 2x N
  • 2x Switch
  • 1x Rare Candy
  • 1x Frozen City
  • 1x Town Map
  • 1x Pokemon Catcher
  • 1x Hypnotoxic Laser
  • 1x Tool Scrapper
Energy- 15
  • 15x Lightning

I eventually want to put 1 Lugia EX, 1 Tornadus EX, and 4 Plasma Energies when I get them, but I can't figure out what lines to expand or take out. Jolteon is one where I might want to run 2 DE and 2 PF so that I can get around Silver Mirrors and counter EX cards as well. I want to get more Rare Candies and expand the Vanilluxe line to maybe a 3-1-3 or a 4-2-4 for sure, but i really don't know whether Lanturn is bad enough to take out, especially if I do wind up getting Plasma Energies. I would want the revamped line to look something like this Poke-wise:

3 Thundurus EX
1 Tornadus EX
1 Lugia EX
2 Jolteon DE/ 3 Lanturn (PF)
2 Jolteon PF
4 Eevee/ 4 Chinchou (PF)
3 Vanilluxe
1 Vanillish
3 Vanillite

12 Lightning Energy
4 Plasma Energy

same trainers +1 Rare Candy, maybe swap Cheren for 2 more Plasma balls and ditch the energy retrievals and 1 Reversal Trigger. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks =)

Edited to meet the criteria set in the rules! :D ~Kecleon

Moved to Deck List Help because it is asking for advice on a list.

Interesting deck idea. I would have just gone with water energy, though this might work. idk.

2x Vanillish (PF) +1
4x Vanillite (PF)+2
2x Fliptini +2

Energy- 12

8x Lightning -7
Double Colorless + 4

Trainers- 32

4x Professor Juniper +1
4x N +2
3xSkyla +3
1x Bianca +1
2x Team Plasma Ball -1
2x Level Ball +2
1x Ultra Ball +1
2x Reversal Trigger
2x Switch
4x Rare Candy +3
2x Frozen City +1
1x Town Map
1x Pokemon Catcher
3x Tool Scrapper +2

+2 Cards

Either way i would suggest taking out lanturns, it isnt really that good or needed for this deck. The addition of the eevee is also questionable. Jolteon is kind of not that great. Being able to retreat out of jolteons status condition makes it easy to get around the inability to attack. If anything you should add the other eeveelutions for coverage rather than using jolteon because it uses electric energy. Leafeon will help cover you against landorus and the keldeo blastoise matchup. Flareon will help against VirGen. But overall it seems like kind of a waste of pokemon imo. Granted you can accelerate energy on to them with Thundurus, but is it really worth it?

What you should add is Fliptini, which got a reprint in the newest set. This allows you to reflip if you dont get good results for Vanilluxe's attack. So basically take out the above mentioned pokemon, thicken the Vanilluxe line and add in 1-2 Fliptini and it should be better.

Being only plasma attackers, you need 2 or 3 tool scrappers for those silver mirrors you are going to run into. Even if you dont expect to, you need to tech for it or you out right lose.

Take out plasma energy, it does nothing for you. Instead add in Double Colorless Energy to add 2 to flips instead of just 1 from the plasma. Especially since you dont have any colress machine.

Take out energy retrieval as well. Its really bad for this deck. mainly because you have thundurus ex. It accelerates energy from your discard to your pokemon. Taking it out of the discard is counter productive.

Drop shadow triad. Its just bad. If you want to get your pokemon back, use super rod.

Team plasma grunts are also very bad when compared to other supporters. Having to discard a plasma card, no matter the amount of plasma in your deck, just makes it bad.

Get rid of pokemon communication for level balls instead. If you are going to focus on one pokemon line, you dont need to worry about switching pokemon. Maybe even get rid of 1 plasma for a 2 level ball 1 Ultra 1 Plasma set. You can easily grab the basic and the middle form of Vanilluxe with level ball, grab whatever you need with ultra and the plasma to get the final evolution. Believe it or not, getting out the basics is much more important than the final stage.

I like the inclusion of plasma trigger in this deck. If you do ever end up being walled by mirror, you can sacrifice a pokemon with the trigger on it to get the tool scrapper you need to finish it.

Supporter count is ideally 4 Juniper, 4 N, and 2-3 Skyla + 1-2 more draw support. I like bianca, cheren is also okay, and maybe even colress. The others are not nearly as good.

Consider adding more catcher, with fliptini, you can make use of catcher a lot more efficiently iirc. Maybe to 3 or 4.

Has Fliptini been reprinted? I am wondering bc if not, he's Noble Victories and thus illegal. Still a great suggestion however. I'll definitely test this, thank you =)
