Ruling Leveling Up Question

I know when you evolve a pokemon it removes any special conditions from it, but what if I were to level up a pokemon (i.e., put a lv.x darkrai onto my active darkrai)
Even though leveling up and evolving are different are they treated as pretty much the same act?

Sorry nobody got to this. Yes, Leveling-up is treated much like evolving, and you would remove all special conditions from the newly leveled-up pokemon.
