Life without the Pixies Say bye to Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit

If you guys can not tell what this is about let me explain it to you. Every since LA( Legends Awakened) set was released there was 3 cards that changed the game Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit. Also know as the Pixies. Some of these cards was only used in certain decks but other was a pretty much staple and any other. Mesprit has a poke power called "Psychic Bind" when you played this card from your hand your opponent could not use any pokepowers, Azelf had "Time Walk" when you put this card from your hand to your bench you could look at you prize cards and choose pokemon and replace it with a card from your hand and last Uxie with had "Set Up" when you put this card from your hand you can draw cards until you had 7 cards in hand.

As you can see when we do have a rotation these cards will be missed a lot. But we do have SOME replacements for these cards

Replacement for Time Walk

With the combo of these two card we card get that we need from the prizes. The good thing about this we are not limited to getting just pokemon the bad thing about this we do not have a way to search for the alph

Replacement for Set Up

All we have to do is use all the cards that we need then we Juniper for 7 new cards. The only problem with this it your support for the turn.

There is not a replacement for Psychic Bind that i seen. We tell me what you think how will life be with the Pixies. Also you could say magenzone but thats a big tech just for draw power

For draw I say Noctowl would be a good draw and has a halfway decent attack to boot. In a slower enviroment a +1 on draw is always beneficial. Also you can use cleffa as an attacker and hand refresher. As long as it doesn't wake up between your turn and your opponents you can retreat it and rinse and repeat.

Another problem with Rotom/Alph is that what if one of them is prized? run 2 of each? i dunno about that.

Juniper is alright , there's also Supporter:Bianca that allows you to draw until you have 6 cards in your hand to look foward too. Isn't released yet but could be good.

Nothing will replace those awesome pixies, hopefully will get something better.

Why run two? There was never a reason to run two Azelf and it was possible to have it Prized as well...

dmaster out.

The alph is a very suitable replacement for azelf and if the format goes HGSS on then Spiritomb will be gone so trainer lock will be lower than it is now

Unless a deck absolutely needs to know what it's prizes are, I don't think people will start running Rotom/Alph Lithograph 4. Mesprit, as you said, has no real replacement just now.

As for Uxie, Magnezone and Ninetales will be popular. Noctowl might work in some decks. Engineer's Adjustments might also get played, as well as Professor Juniper, although the latter would probably be more for hand refreshment then actual drawpower

LOL Every deck needs to know what it's prize cards are well ......unless you have X-Ray Vision.

Wait. Sure, Rotom's good and all, but Alph by itself certainly isn't bad. Honestly, just knowing what one's prizes are is good. Taking that one Pokémon is rarely necessary, although it is often helpful. I think Alph will see some play without Rotom even. Sure, it's not searchable (yet ;P), but it doesn't take up bench space as well. Azelf is better overall, of course, but Alph alone could be a replacement.

you can switch any cards not just pokemon. So that energy that you need or the support. I personally think it will get a lot of use

I don't like these topics. They always come just before a rotation. Last time it was about Claydol GE, did we ever get a replacement for that? Nope.
Is our current format lost without it? Nope. The fact is we may not see cards that are as good as the pixies for years to come.
The closest replacement for any of the three is Alph Lithograph and even that isn't quite as good as Azelf.
And when it comes to Uxie, if we ever see a card as good/better than Uxie....I don't know, but I'll be very surprised lol.

Isn't PONT a better choice then Juniper? Pont shuffles your hand, while Juniper makes you discard.

Copycat might get some play though

The cards do different things why would you want to shuffle in a pokemon collector or some other support that you will not have a use for late game.

I think they should reprint the Pixies. I think that Rotom UD is a good Idea as well

^Reprints would be great, but they'll probably make B/W Pokemon with similar abilities, but not exactly the same. Something like Magnezone Prime for drawpower, but easier to set up. Fingers crossed. We've already seen examples of this as mentioned above, but hopefully there will be better B/W cards that will serve the same purpose.
I'll definitely miss these three, although I've never used Mesprit, I've used Power Spray if anything seeing as I have one.
I'm pretty annoyed about this rotation altogether, just traded away B/W cards and got 3 Uxies, a Spiritomb and an Azelf at my PR. I'm on the verge of stopping competitive play and going for casual stuff.

Life without Uxie will be awesome. Uxie was the reason for a lot of donks! I'm so glad that stupid thing will be gone. Although, I think Azelf was a great card. It really made every deck more consistent, which meant more skill than luck.

It does Such when they do mid season rotations. What I think what they should have done it that the person going first they are not allowed to attack. I believe that will make it fare for everyone. But as far as the reprints goes pokemon does eventually make reprints of pokemon pokepowers. We have the replacement for Nidoqueen. We also got rain dance a water and fire version. If pokemon thinks the ability is a must like rain dance or damage swap it will come back.

Guys, think for a minute. WHY would they reprint Uxie in a first turn trainer format? Exactly. And they never DID reprint Claydol, Roseanne's, or Unown G. Uxie's gonna make Zekrom unbeatable, no doubt.

I'm with James on this one. We'll just have to go back to using bulky energy lines, 3-4 Smeargle, and lots of draw supporters. I mean, we'll finally be able to use the full 30 minutes.
