XY Likelihood of travelling to past regions? What possibilities does that bring about?

RE: Will you be able to go to Unova at the end of the game

No, I don't want another game with two regions in it, that causes too many problems.

Besides, Unova will likely have little to do with this new region, seeing as the two will likely be far away from each other.

RE: Will you be able to go to Unova at the end of the game

If it hadn't been featured a second time in BW2, I could see them pulling a "GS" thing, like making gen 6 the "gen 2" of the non-japan-based regions.

But BW2 pretty much did that already, WITHOUT being a new generation, so the chances for this are 0%.
Any other region showing up has better chances, although highly unlikely, but asking for those would have made a better thread (unless it was the "all regions in one game" crap, that's just facepalm material)

That would make sense if they chose somewhere closer to New York as the basis for the new region, like New England or Philadelphia. Or maybe even Canada. But the new region is based on France, somewhere very far away from any past gen region. Meaning the likelihood of it being associated with another region is slim to none. So comparing it to 2nd gen doesn't really work, if it's like any other previous gen, it'd be more like what 4th gen was to 3rd gen.

Besideds GS were originally meant to be the last Pokémon games. They were meant to be the ultimate Pokémon games.

Well. The problem is that they're going to make a model of about 700-800+ Pokémon in full 3D (hopefully), including all the areas to be in 3D and all characters, and they have a s**tload of particles to program. The limit for a 3DS card is 8GB, so I doubt more regions.

I agree it will most likely not happen, and it will have to program A LOT. However, it would be cool, if they did it, to do the Gen 6 region with Hoenn.

Wait.. What? Please explain.

They initially made the first handful of pokemon games, now known as gen I.
But they figured, in case these games would be successful enough, they would go on and make sequels.
They also intended to have 190 pokemon first, but because of this idea, they reduced them to 150, and used the other 40 for the sequels (of course also making 60 more to make it more fresh)

And since RG did make money, (meanwhile milking even more cash with blue and then yellow after the anime kicked off,) they then went ahead and made GS, which was first announced as Pokemon 2 (notice how they went from basic colors, to "the best"; gold and silver).

But with those games being a big hit too, it obviously didn't stop there.
