Pokemon Loss in Originality

Back in the old days, Nintendo could still come up with pokemon like Alakazam. Alakazam was a really original idea. Now look, They already had a turtle starter, namely Squirtle, but they made Turtwig, yet another turtle. They definitely lost their originality in DP, they added a lot of Stage 2 pokemon, like Rhyperio, Magmortar and Electivire, which aren't necessary. Whatever happened to the Nintendo I knew? Where will they get their insight?

I'm sure it get hard coming up with new animal to make into pokemon aslo there not the same type(species)of turtle if that help most thing that are the same animal are diffrent species of it but your right

What is Quirz and why do you call everyone it???

Anyway, Nintendo have run out of ideas. Its as simple as that. They need new, improved ideas. I think any more characters without help of someone with freash ideas will make this end up like yu gi oh or something like a Hitmonleechantop or possible a ditto evo. -_- Thats desparate.
 
Nintendo came out with a lot of good pokemon in DP. Shinx is just love. Sure their stats aren't Tier1 but as a pokemon in general they're awesome (<3 Luxray). I'm of course talking about appearance and vocals. Lucario artwork is seen every place I go to (needs more shinx line).

Course people complain about adding new stage two's but no one complains about eevee. Don't get me wrong, I love the little guy and all the evos.

I was disappointed with a turtle starter as well. That's probably the only unforgivable part (even though it is another species).

I didn't like a lot of the new pokemon at first. But they kind of grow on you, like each of the other generations did.

Lets face it. Luxray is just win. xP

Well it would be quite hard to keep thinking of ideas when you already had 386 of them. I guess some were original and some really weren't.

Anyway, I do like Froslass and Gallade, though they make IV breeding a pain

There was no originality this time around, but were some good new evos. Giranta was just awsome. Original typing and design. Palkia and Dialga were kinda what you would expect....
 
It is hard to come up with ideas when you almost top 500....all you can do is give evo's to Pokemon really
 
You guys really think the first gen was original? Let's take a look at some of the evos.

Clefairy --> Clefable (Got slightly fatter)
Diglett --> Dugtrio (Two extra heads, angry)
Magnemite --> Magneton (Hahaha)
Bulbasaur --> Ivysaur --> Venusaur (All get fatter and larger, that's it)

There are a few others too, but you get the idea.

Now, I realise that the fourth gen was unoriginal in some respects, but it was a work of genius compared to the first set, where they had so many extra ideas that hadn't been done yet to toy around with.

If the first set was somehow released after the second, third and fourth gens, I guarantee you would say that it sucked. Hugely.
 
oh no, if there is a fifth region than they will definetly add some kind of sentar pokemon. Or maybe you will be able to cross bread Luxray with some kind of tiger pokemon from the fifth season to make a liger. The starters from the next region will probably be a peice of paper, a rock, and a pair of scizors. They will evolve into an essay, a bigger rock, and a giant shreddar.
 
Okay first off, if you think that the 4th gen pokemon arent original then dont play the games. Second off, look at some of the 1st gen pokemon. Oh wow, very original. Seriously if you have nothing better to do than bash the new pokemon then get A life.

I agree. They are not rabbits. If anything, they are mice. But not rabbits.
