This is my first attempt at a lostgar build. I would appreciate any advice/comments/suggestions you can give :) thanks

Pokemon: 23
4-3-3-1 Gengar prime/x
2-2 Absol G/X (for other Lostgar and to use the power to send more to LZ)
2 Spiritomb AR (to help set up Only not sure if this should be included)
2 Spiritomb TR (to force opponent to draw 6)
unown Q
1 Azelf
2 uxie
1 uxie x

T/S/St: 27

3 Bebes
2 BTS
3 Cyrus
2 Energy Gain
2 Lookers
4 Lost world
1 luxury ball
1 Palmers
3 Pokemon collector
2 Poketurn
2 Premier Ball
2 Twins

Energy: 10

6 psychic
2 Dark
2 Rescue

Strategy:

set up with spiritomb AR, then start putting energy on gengar, and start spreading/lz-ing pokemon from their hand. use Absol's power to send more to lz and use poketurn to reuse the power with a benched absol.

I like the Absol counter, but you shouldn't run any AR Spiritomb. It is just too slow, and Rare Candy might be faster. That's just me, but on a larger note, Absol G X is a simple tech. It's Pokepower is.. blech, and Darkness Slugger will most likely help you in the mirror matchup. You have enough to support Gengar, so take it easy on the Premier Ball and others.

You don't really need call energy because you have lots of starting options, so I would switch them out for Rescue Energies. They are REALLY helpful in this deck (I playtested with them).

Yep. Made a proxied deck and everything. Tested it against decks like Luxchomp and Gyrados. It is really an essential, if all Gengar uses is the first attack, it will be knocked out in a couple of turns, therefore needs rescue to save it (especially if it is Leveled up into Gengar Lv. X).

I might also try a spread variant, with spiritomb la with the cursed droplets attack..along with possiby zapdos md. eh..all in all I'm not too sure how I want to run it. lol. anyway..why do some people use mew prime in lost gar? to send a gengar prime to lz and then to use the first attack? that would require, i assume, 2 snowpoints and 2 bts (snowpoints for mews) any thoughts on that?

Test out a MD Omastar line to help you with your evolution matchups. Say if you're facing a Stealix, you can limit the number of their main attack and it can possible make them scoop being left with Onix's to attack with. So adding seeker would be needed to, to reuse the omastar.

Well just saying, it works extremely well in my Lostgar, I'm not afraid of the SP match up. and Seeker is definately needed anyways to always guarentee atleast 1 pokemon in their hand.

Just a thought, since this deck has potential to win in 6 turns, why not play it for speed? I'd ditch the Absol because it's just luck-reliant, and those six or so spaces you would free will really help you get a faster Gengar. You also don't have to max out Lost World because you will draw one in the time it takes you to throw away six Pokemon by playing speed, Twins helps you, and four gets in the way of your setup.

I need Some form of anti mirror (as in a Dark type attacker). it was either that or run Umbreon (and since gengar can just curse drop around Umby or Hurl into Darkness Umby is a bad choice)

Lucario..let me do a bit of a hypothetical match.. if I only play 3 lost world
I play lost world..LW#1

next turn..he plays bts. bts #1

my turn: I play LW to mess up his setup.. LW #2

his turn: Bts #2

my turn: Lost world #3 and Final

his turn:

BTS #3..

if that or any similar scenario..all lw are dead= game over

this is my first test. I'll probably run this variant at BR depending on the current meta and see what happens.

if you wanna run it by speed then i suggest you max out twin, add rescue energies and make lost world 3 only. once lostgar gets ko'ed rescue energy saves it and activates twins *if you have four then most probably, you can easily access them* get yourself rare candy and a psychic energy or another support then continue the assault. if your running lostgar most of the time you dont need to slap it down as early as possible because expect the counter stadiums to ram in. you play it when you really need it to assure that you win and no counter stadium for the opponent. you can also try running cynthias guidance and or vs seeker.

Since you are unsure of running spiritomb Ar and you play a minor sp engine, then why not change the 2 spiritomb(s )for 2 smeargle ud? With it you could use the opponents supporters and it has 70 hp making it a better starter and it can't be 1 hitted by shadow room.

The strategy of this deck is to seeker up pokemon and send them to the lost zone, why aren't you running 4?

BTW I was playing with my dark deck today and I thought that the UL Houndoom might be a counter for Mamoswine. If you had 2 special dark energies on it it would take out a Gengar Lv. X and it's first attack would do 100 to mamoswine. Not an OHKO but it's something. Gengar could even take it out after that and send it to the lost zone.

Why would you continually lie down your Lost World like that? The only time LW even works is when you're opponent has 6 in the Lost Zone, therefore there's no point in playing the LW until you know or are relatively close to achieving the 6th pokemon. Since that's the case you truly only need 2-3 LW and it'd still be just as effective.

Also, Absol Prime would be a starter worth considering while you get your bench set up...Get him out first and its auto 20 damage to any basic put down by your opponent, with a single retreat cost its not hard after that to switch out next turn for your G-Prime and let him clean up the rest. Its obviously not as solid in a late game format but since LostGar is a NEED to be quick game, I feel like this could be a useful starter to at least test and consider.

^Also it's a good idea to lay it down before placing an Uxie on your bench for the extra card. Not to mention that the goal of the deck is to have that one card put down so running 4 is often a good idea.

@GHJamesGH

I know seeker is a possibility..But I also sometimes play from a curse droplets/compound pain angle mid-late game if Need be..possibly suggest something to remove for seeker?

Off Topic: I love your sig. Death note is AMAZING

@Aburame Yuki

If I run smeargle I'm probably going to run one smeargle and +1 Unown q (to ensure I can retreat smeargle for multiple use of it's power)

@Others besides Shaymin X..no thank you, I don't agree in one way or another.

@Horrible Ghost I have never in 3 years of getting back into the game Ever seen mamoswine being used..Hence..Why would I need a counter?
