Lost Gengar Revised [MD+]

Deal with it.

I've revised my list, with changes to increase the speed but I have some consistency and
speed troubles. I think 3 Lost World may be too much, and maybe an increase in twins would help.
I tried Blaziken FB > Absol G X but Absol G has more synergy with the deck. I have considered the
generic Palkia G X option, but I'm not confident in starting with it, or how I'd retreat it, or even if it's worth it.

20/
3-2-3-1 Gengar Prime
1-1 Absol G LV.X
1 Mew Prime
3 Spiritomb
1 Unown Q
1 Ditto
1 Azelf
2 Uxie

27/
3 Bebe's Search
2 Pokemon Collector
3 Lost World
3 Pokemon Communication
4 Seeker
2 Twins
1 Looker's Investigation
2 Rare Candy
1 Flower Shop Lady
2 Super Scoop Up
2 Professor Oak's New Theory
1 Luxury Ball
1 Premier Ball

13/
9 Psychic
2 Special Dark
2 Rescue Energy

My general strategy is to get Gengar out and running in a short amount of time, lost zoning one to
two Pokemon every turn with Hurl into Darkness. Ditto is used to Seeker + Ditto Bench so that the
given Pokemon has to stay in there hand if, for example I need to mess with their setup and can't
hurl into darkness. He also helps later in the game by forcing them to keep or shuffle away their Pokemon for fear of Gengar. This is, of course, best case scenario.

With a Spiritomb-Collecter-Gastly T1 Going second, I would Collector for Uxie, Unown Q, and Absol
G, then Spiritomb's Darkness Grace to evolve Gastly into haunter, if I do not get Rare Candy Gengar
Psychic Energy with Uxie and a switch of Spiritomb.

I play Gengar LV.X to hurt SP and other LV.X decks that still linger, as well as the HP boost and third attack that I rarely use.

Mew Prime is a good card for mirror matches and bad starts, as when they lost zone Gengar I can lost zone one of theirs. When I start with Mew I can Lost Zone a spiritomb and evolve a gastly or a haunter.

I have some troubles with consistency in playtesting, and if my opponent is playing Absol G LV.X I can have trouble getting around it.

Like I said before, Palkia G X is an idea, but I worry about it being too clunky.

If you really want to run Gengar' / Lost World, then here is an excellent skeleton of it:
1-3-3-4 Gengar'
2-2 Bronzong (SF (Stormfront))
1 Mr. Mime
1 Spiritomb (TR (Triumphant))
3 Spiritomb (AR (Arceus))
1 Unown Q
2 Mew'
2 Lost World
1 Luxury Ball
4 Pokémon Collector
3 Bebe's Search
2 Pokémon Communication
4 Seeker
2 VS Seeker
2 Junk Arm
1 Warp Point
2 Warp Energy
6 Psychic Energy

This is only 50 cards. If I were you, though, I would definitely consider 1 Lucian's Assignment or Energy Switch for cases of attaching energy with no Gastly down. The best option is Gengar' / Lost World combo from your choices above. It has a consistent basis, a set strategy, and counters while behind in the game. You might want Twins, but almost every turn while Gengar' is out, you will want Seeker. That is why I put 4 Seeker, 2 VS Seeker (to search out Seeker), and 2 Junk Arm (to get VS Seeker to get Seeker). You MIGHT want Azelf in case of trouble and Regice for bad match-ups. Most people question Spiritomb AR. The reason for it is to slow your opponent down AND to set up Gengar' with Darkness Grace. Cool huh? Plus, no Vileplume needed. Another thing is to decide whether you should use Rare Candy or not. The reason I did not put up Broken Time-Space was for the simple reason that Spiritomb helps you out there, but if you feel that you might need it, go right ahead. Rare Candy is the hard part to decide on. You use Spiritomb and no other stage 2 Pokémon besides Gengar', so that is up to you.

Here is something else to think of. People will tech against Gengar and if you want to win, you need to find ways around it. Here is a brief statement of why Gengar' will not win you a competition, but it could get you some serious points towards your rating. It is my opinion that I stated on other web sites debating whether or not it is a good idea to run Gengar' / Lost World or not. Check it out:

"I don't see why Gengar' deck runners think that they have really good decks. For one thing, I am a wicked rogue deck runner, and I can tell you so many reasons why Gengar' doesn't have a chance to win. First off, Tyranitar' is still moderately run. Second, Umbreon destroys your concept. Third, attacks like Amnesia can keep Gengar' off your back. Fourth, Junk Arm, Regice, Registeel, Volkner's, and many more can discard the Pokémon from your hand, so I don't see why anyone couldn't edge it. Lastly, they will have to tech in an attack Gengar or something to get best of 3 matches in their favor. All you have to do is maximize a donker line, and you've won. So in reality, Gengar' has so many weaknesses that it won't stand a chance. These are all great solutions to it."

This isn't the worst senario, but if you can find ways around these counters and bad match-ups, then you should do well. I am being as honest as Honest Abe. I hope you do really well at States (if you go) and if you come to Georgia States, i'll be there.
