Ruling lv.x question

hi i was wondering if after you have evolved is it possible to level up into lv.x straight away as thats not classed as evolving, like this

turn 1 you play eevee
turn 2 you evolve into leafeon and then level up into leafeon lv.x

or do you have to wait until your next turn?

just something we were debating on at league

You have to wait.

You're right that leveling up isn't evolving, but it obeys all of the same rules and restrictions.

You can get a T2 Leafeon however.

You would need to be going second on the 1st turn, Rare candy your Eevee, then the next turn level up into Leafeon Lv.X.

That's not what "this counts as evolving" means.

Trainers and Poke-Powers are allowed to break the rules. If you can legally play a card or use a Power, and that card/Power tells you to do something that would be illegal, you do it anyway.

So you can use Rare Candy to evolve on your first turn if you go second.

"This counts as evolving" means that it removes all effects from that Pokemon (as evolving normally does). It also means you are considered to have evolved that Pokemon, so you can't play another Evolution or Level Up card from your hand onto that same Pokemon on that turn.
