Ruling lv.X type question

Okay, here is a question...

Let's say I have a fighting pokemon, and I level up to a fire pokemon... since I keep everything else do I also retain the type? By any chace would I now be 2 types? Just for laughs if I had different weakness and resistances would I keep both or only what ever the level X is?
 
Everything on the Level X card overrides the underlying card. The only things that are shared are Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies, items, and attacks, as per the Level X card text.

So in your example, you now have a Fire-type Pokemon. It has whatever Weakness and Resistance appears on the Level X card.
 
I don't know if you were just using that as an example, but what fighting type levels up to fire type?

Actually.. what pokemon levels up to a different type? Besides Heatran?

And they're coming out with Machamp Lv. X??!! I was just kidding when I said they should. But according to that list, they are.
