Standard Lycanroc GX / Zygarde EX Deck

Good Morning Peoples,

Finally there is a GX to add to a fighting deck, the question is what what to support it with!?

Typically Regirock Ex/ Zygarde Ex or Carbink Break/Zygarde Ex have been the way to go in the past.

But with Regirock having the high retreat cost and Carbink Safeguard losing alot of its appeal with GX's now taking over the EX's.

My question is anyone running a Lycanroc GX / Zygarde EX Deck?
if so are you using a carbink break with it still?

If not, what do you think the best way fwd is with a fighting, Lycaroc deck is?

Cheers

Greetings. Interestingly enough, Lycanroc GX has also caught my attention as well. I particularly like it because it provides some interesting deck options including/with:
  • Hammers in order to leverage its Crunch attack, and
  • Max Elixir to accelerate energy-attachment in order to utilize Accelrock attack faster and often.
Further, I am not a fan of including Regirock EX at all since it will become an easy Lysandre target for an opponent to stall behind, especially f you don't have "extra" cards to get it out of the active position. IMO, Regirock EX is more of a liability than an asset. Similarly, with more decks shifting toward playing GX Pokémon, Carbink/Carbink BREAK's usefulness is minimal; so, I'd forgo using this Pokémon too.

Other Pokémon partners I like to use with Lycanrock GX, other than Zygarde EX, include Lugia EX and Tauros GX.

Although there are/will be lots of G deck variants, a Lycanrock-Zygarde deck can still be viable (Weakness Policy yay!)

The Deck Garage section of the forum is usually for full 60 card lists so you might want to post the list you're thinking of or don't be surprised if this gets moved to the right place. :) (Not a big deal really, just more of an FYI for next time)

Just thought I would chime in that there is still the Carbink with Energy Keeper, which might be a useful tech that allows you to have a 1 prize attacker plus energy acceleration with Carbink Break. It's not as useful as the ability to resist EX, but since EX Pokemon seem to be in the process of switching to GX it might be good to test. Might not be competitive, but I thought it worth mentioning!
