M Latios-EX, Reshiram, Rayquaza Cards from ‘Emerald Break’ [2/28]

That Latios is horrible... 120 to a bench and discard two energy? Really? The Sneaky Crobat line can do better... and I could make a more reliable bench hitting deck with Blaziken FuF, and that's a bit of a dud... Weakness to Fairy too...

Not to mention the Dragon M-Rayquaza-EX... history has shown that 300 damage doing EXs aren't amazing...

And that Reshiram only attaching to Dragon? Yeah, thanks PCL.
 
Reshiram could work with Dragon M Rayquaza Ex to fuel him on the bench. Still the Flying type version is much better. According to http://google.com/ the ancient trait Altaria removes weakness from Dragon and Colorless Pokémon once it is in play. This works well with both versions of Rayquaza, although the Flying type seems to benefit a little more from it.

Do you not realise that Reshiram just feeds the Mega Rayquaza? And when I say feed, I mean FEED. Celebi Prime was a huge card when it was legal, the Power was insane as it made big attacks possible very quickly. With this new Reshiram, you can hit 300 damage easily on turn 2. Between Switch, Escape Rope, Float Stone, etc. you get five Energy on the board very quickly. Not to mention Delta Wild gives it insane bulk. And don't forget it still gets that Mega Turbo.

Dragon M-Rayquaza is very good, not as good as the other Rayquaza but still very, very strong. If not for the strength of Fairy decks I'd think this could be one of the best cards in format.

Reshiram is my favourite card revealed from the set thus far, and I really liked Shaymin-EX. The Ability is something I really love, but this time they were smart enough to make it specific, preventing weird things from happening with cards like Camerupt-EX, Yveltal-EX as well as Mewtwo-EX. Very nice, very nice.

M-Latios seems like it could become very good depending on what support it gets. It could even become a tech in Aromatisse toolbox depending on what regular Latios does. I just hope that Altaria has a good Ability.
 
IDK... Reshiram still has limited playability due to only feeding dragon. Nevertheless those are good points... the thing is, thats a lot (and I stress 'a lot') of set up required. Nevertheless, I do prefer to look at Reshiram's art rather than its ability. So pretty ^-^

Are you kidding? Some of these are really strong!

-We know that Altaria boosts HP, and considering that I see a Colorless symbol in that Ability, it's safe to assume that it boosts HP for [C] Pokemon. If it's just a 10 HP boost, I don't think it will be strong enough to work tremendously, but a 20HP boost would make it super playable even outside of Mega Rayquaza-EX! I'm looking at you, Regigigas.

-I do agree on Mega Latios-EX, though. 120 is just enough to snipe popular cards like Garbodor, Jirachi-EX, and the new Shaymin-EX, but that just isn't enough to merit the 2 discards. Hopefully the basic Latios will see some play.

-Rayquaza EX [N] isn't great, but Mega Rayquaza EX [N] is actually really strong. Honestly, it's better than Mega Charizard EX and could see play! Why?
1. Gets a Spirit Link.
2. Gets Delta Wild.
3. Discards Energy instead of your top deck or your health.

-Reshiram is really strong Energy acceleration for Basic standards, but I just wish it wasn't limited to Dragon Types. As such, It's only useful with these cards:

Druddigon PLS
White Kyurem EX PLS
Latias EX PLF
Salamence PLB
Rayquaza LTR
Druddigon FLF
Dragon M Rayquaza EX RSK

I for one am glad to see Reshiram as a dragon type. This makes me expect Zekrom to be a dragon type with an electric ability similar to Reshiram's. More feed for Rayquaza EX and M. Rayquaza EX. Note though the odds of the attack name Hell Wing will most likely not make it into Roaring Skies.

Yeah I have to admit M. Latios EX isn't that good. I mean it can have it uses but it could have been alot better. Oh, well.

You're probably right Frosty, we may not get the shiny Rayquaza EX. We certainly never got to Shiny Gengar EX.
 
You could pair the dragon M rayqueza with emboar. It may take a few turns to set up but once you can get it set up it could be one of the best decks in the format being able to hit for 300 with the only draw back of discarding 2 energy. if you are worried about the fairy weakness then play a tool retriver and put some weakness policy in the deck.

I also like the name of reshirams attack "Hell Wing"

Will the dragon M rayqueza EX need to mega evolve from the Dragon rayqueza EX and cololess from colorless. This is the first time we have two different megas with two differnt type regular ex unlike chairzard where we only had fire EX's.
 
^I'ma guess you haven't been around that long in the TCG... You can evolve any pokémon from their previous stage, regardless of the type. [In case you actually knew this, why would it be any different with the Megas?]

I hate the lack of symmetry in Dragon Ascent's energy cost... Why 3 Fire and 1 Electric (+ 1 colorless)? Why not 2 of both? Call me picky, but these details just bother me, I don't know...
 
I think we are overlooking some things!

1) Mega turbo! Even greater than the Dark Patch! Actually a LOT. You can power up a Rayquaza right after Dragon Ascent with only 2 uses!
2) The new energy cards and the rest cards of the set! Remember when we said that the Colorless M Ray was bad cause of 5 benched pokemon = 150 damage? Well we waited and we got the Sky stadium with 8 benched pokemon! This set is based on Dragon! So new dragon tech cards are on the way 100% sure!
3)Are you KIDDING ME ? Even with the cards revealed now this CARD IS HUGE! a)KO's everything!. No need to play Strong Energy (Groudon), It prevents 20 Damage!!!! and HAS a spirit link! The 2 Energy discard has really NO drawback! There are tons of ways and endless possibilities! It could even with the WC


p.s. The M Latios IS Bad, as of now at least. You will need a truly exploding turn to power it up! BUT It could be useful against the Tech pokemon like shaymin and jirachi! so only time will tell
 
For the Reshiram, there's the team Magma Claydol that can move energy. There's also that Eelektross from Primal Clash (and there's always energy switch).

Magma Claydol wouldn't work because it only moves from a Magma 'mon, and there aren't any Magma Dragons.

However, Eelektross would actually work really well since you can just attach to Reshiram instead.
