I know... it's strange without FoGP... but it actually works really well! I have been testing this for awhile, and it beats a lot of expanded decks. For example most of the time it can beat Trev BREAK, it gives any Turbo Dark variant a run for its money when you play to a lone BRS Vileplume, and same for Volcanion. I still play the spirit links because I get at least one turns of items (max of T2 vileplume). And they're great for discarding late game with Starmie. Sophocles is for hand thinning and allows me to remove items from my hand if necessary. For some matchups you don't even need Vileplume so you can just worry about setting up Sceptile and Starmie. Starmie is one of the most helpful parts of this deck. It makes my opponents energy discarding engines worthless late game, allows a Sceptile healing wheel to be nearly infinite, and gives a use for late game items as I can just discard them! (Cred goes to John Kettler for the general idea of this deck).
I am planning on running this or Trev BREAK for San Jose.
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated
