I've been trying to figure out a good line up for Mega Venusauar since I got whooped by crisp vine in a TCGOL game. I really like the card but its really slow becasue of the energy requirements. I think with Vikavolt I may have just found a nice line up. It has gone 9/15 in TCGOL. I am trying to avoid using cards from sets older than Breakthrough so I don't have to figure it all out again in September. Thoughts?

Strategy is to start with either Riakou or Venusaur EX but Oranguru's attack is viable if necessary. Use candies and evosodas to get a Vikavolt out asap. once Vikavolt is out, you can attach as much as 3 energy per turn reliably and maybe a fourth if you hit max elixir. float stones for Vikavolt, FFB for Riakou.
