Yup, I’m one of those people. If I spent less time having an existential crisis about having to attend school and instead just revised, I’d probably be a straight A student. But that’s just not possible when the whole system is so flawed. You’re allowed to be creative in only a couple of subjects and allowed an actual opinion in just one. I get vocational subjects, but why maths is dressed up into 5 different exams and forced onto every student in the UK I will never understand.
Celever’s Mum heads into the room and states with a patronising tone: “It’d help you study if you stopped daydreaming about your school subjects and actually did the equations on the paper in front of you.” I know this, obviously, but sometimes motivation is impossible to garner. My finals are in less than a year, but I spend more time at parties or working for this site than I do in my books.

It’s also very useful though, especially the terminology compendium, which I would recommend visiting from time to time throughout the game, since otherwise all this mafia lingo can get confusing.So, what’s this game all about?
Flavour of Mafia XXXVII:
The flavour of this game is centred around school! I know it’s traumatic, but it’s something we all have to go through in our lives and it’s topical since several of our current players are nearing finals age. The premise is that there are a few subjects Celever’s taking at school which are endeavouring to take up all of his revision time, thus making him fail to get straight As. To get back into the 6th form in his school (which is what the next 2 years of schooling are called after this academic year in the UK), students either need straight As or an excellent excuse as to why they didn’t get it. It’s the responsibility of the town to ensure Celever gets back into 6th form, by eliminating the subjects who are trying to waste his revision time!
The Factions of Mafia XXXVII:
This is a basic 1 vs 1. The mafia faction are called the Bs, whereas the town are called the As. There are 4 members of the B faction. They have been given completely safe claims, so don’t read into things like spelling/grammar because if there are any mistakes, they were made by me. I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of third parties.
Unique Mechanics and Roles of Mafia XXXVII:
This is a simple beginner-friendly game. That doesn’t mean it won’t be fun though! Roles have been designed so that no role can be considered confotown, and it’s possible that some abilities are actually shared between two unconnected players. This is because this game has a mix of roles with a large pool of weaker abilities and roles with one or two abilities which are more powerful. There’s also a lot of abilities which lock and unlock at various points in the game. This will result in every player having to adapt to different situations and always having something to do! Sometimes people who have just one standard ability become apathetic, so this should help change this problem. Naturally some roles are still more powerful than others, however.
One different mechanic with this game is the presence of the blackboard. There are several roles in this game which can have an effect on a sizeable group of other players. The effects of these roles will be written onto a blackboard, and a picture of the current board will be put into the update at the start of every phase. Please note that if a member of the scum has an ability which is shown on the blackboard, it will be written as per the player’s safeclaim as opposed to their legit claim, because it’d be super unfair otherwise.
Addressing Activity:
Unlike in previous games, activity will be measured based on subjective impressions each player makes on me. If I feel like you are too inactive, I will warn you, and announce my warning of you in the thread. I will sub you out or modkill you if your inactivity persists.
