When you attach a fire energy card from your hand to maggy, remove 2 damage counters from maggy.

My question is this. Say i attach a DRE. Does that count as 2 fire energys=remove 4 damage counters? or does it count as a regular DRE when i first attach it=remove no damage counters? thanks in advance.

I think you remove 2 Damage Counters, cause DRE is only one energy CARD and you remove 2 DMG for each fire energy CARD.

You cannot remove ANY damage counters because it stated there "a FIRE ENERGY CARD". Since DRE is not a Fire energy card, so it does not remove 2 damage counters from it...

Clarification:

If asked for Fire ENERGY, any energy card that provides Fire Energy will do.
If asked for Fire Energy CARD, it gotta be a basic Fire Energy card.

Okay...last two posts are totally wrong.

The only time anything in Pokemon requires a basic energy card is if it specifically says "basic energy card". If it doesn't, any energy card that provides the requested energy will work. See this ruling on Flygon SW's Sand Sonic -- different Pokemon, exact same question.

In this case, with a Poke-Body that triggers on energy attachment, the check is performed just after the energy is put into play, so as long as it provides that energy as soon as it's in play, it will trigger the effect. (But as a counter-example, Scramble would not work if you were ahead on prizes at the time you attached it.)

Since the effect is triggered on each card (not each energy), you would remove 2 damage counters for DRE.

I don't see any reported posts. Why not?

PPM, Lucifer, guess what? Both of you get a warning for posting a wrong answer. :)
