Abra, Kadabra, Alakazam – Physic cards from the base set…

I have this group in a deck that me and my daughter created for league play. She understands what each of them do, which is pretty good for an 8 year old. I see their powers of being able to confuse and paralyze their opponents and pretty much appear to be able to hide and jump back into the deck when they obtain some damage, thus saving getting knocked out.

Questions…
1)Are these 3 cards good to play in a league setting?
2)Do these cards have any weaknesses?
3)Since they are in a classic set, they are not available to be used in tourney play. Are these 3 cards reproduced in any set that is Tourney – Legal?
4)Are there any other Pokemon or Trainer cards that you see working well with them?

1. Good but they are not legal in the tournament anymore...
2. Not sure...
3. Nope...
4. Hmm, not sure but you can combo it with Chansey(BS) + Scoop Up...

Okay, Part II to this scenerio/deck. I’m letting my daughter 100% map he little ideas out so win or lose, she’s going to learn about the game and do things her way. We’re going to her first league setting this Sunday.

Along with the Arba, Kadabra, Alakazam group she’s mixed in Dark Pokemon.

4 – Poocheyna, 4 – Mighteyna, and she also has 4 – Sydney’s Stadiums to help raise the power of the Pooch so to say. And I think she has 2 Absol-Ex cards in there too. She has about 8 Dark Energy cards in there. If I’m reading things correctly, doesn’t the Dark Energy cards only count as dark energy and won’t help her other pokemon that could use basic energy cards.

1)Is that correct?

2)With these Physic & Dark Pokemon, is there any addition Pokemon, Trainers, or energy, you could/would add to this creation to make it work for her?

1. You can't have more than 4 Special Energy card in the deck unless you are playing;
4 x Darkness Energy
4 x Dark Metal Energy

2. Maybe you should post the full deck list in the Deck Garage so that you can get some
opinion about it...

wich abra kadabra and alakazams do you mean?? cause there are lots of different ones...

I can't find in the rules where I can't use more than 4 Darkness energy, can you help?

And if I can't use more than 4, then I guess it doesn't make any since for my daughter to use so many dark Cards... (4-Pooch,4-Mighty,2-Absol)

Darkness Energy, actually every card except the basic energies (fire water fight psychic lightning grass), is a so called named card (as it got a name on it, which is Darkness Energy) and you can't have moar than 4 cards with the same name. I have no idea where you got your rules from, but this one is clearly stated in the rulebook if I'm not mistaken. I just looked it up and it is.
I'd try 4 Dark + 4 Multi energies if you really need the Mightyena, otherwise the 4 Darks will do fine. The Absol ex is a nice card tho, I'd keep that one for sure if I were you. But Mightyena is just a total waste of a pokemon, especially if you count in the 4 stadium spots just for him.

Thank you Stealth.... I'm a Poke-Rookie.... Taking the daughter to her first league setting tomorrow... And I've never played myself yet either, so I'm just soaking it all in right now.... Thanks to you and the others that set me staight on the Dark Energies...
