Team Magma’s Camerupt – Fire – HP110

Ability: Burndraft
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may choose 1 [R] or [F] Energy card from your discard pile and attach it to this Pokemon.

[R][C][C] Fireball: 60 damage. Move 1 Basic Energy attached to this Pokemon to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

Team Magma’s Claydol – Psychic – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Team Magma’s Baltoy

Ability: Magma Switch
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may move an Energy card attached to 1 of your Pokemon to another of your Pokemon with Team Magma in its name.

Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Team Magma’s Groudon-EX – Fighting – HP190
Basic Pokemon

Ability: Power Saver
If there are less than 4 Pokemon in play with Team Magma in their name, this Pokemon can’t attack.

[F][F][F][C] Magma Quake: 80+ damage. If your opponent’s Active Pokemon has any damage counters on it, this attack does 80 more damage.

When a Pokemon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Retreat: 4

Team Magma’s Zangoose – Colorless – HP90
Basic Pokemon

[C] Call for Family: Search your deck for up to 2 Basic Pokemon with Team Magma in their name and and put them onto your Bench. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[C][C][C] Team Play: 20x damage. This attack does 20 damage times the number of Pokemon on your Bench with Team Magma in their name.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Team Magma Admins – Trainer
Supporter

Search your discard pile for up to 3 Pokemon with Team Magma in their name and put them into your hand.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).

Team Magma’s Hideout – Trainer
Stadium

Whenever a Basic Pokemon without Team Magma in its name is placed on either player’s Bench, place 2 damage counters on that Pokemon.

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

Double Magma Energy – Special Energy

This card can only be attached to a Pokemon that has Team Magma in its name. At the end of your turn, discard Double Magma Energy.

While this card is attached to a Pokemon, it provides 2 [F] Energy.

(If this card is attached to anything other than a Pokemon with Team Magma in its name, discard this card.)

Strategy:

Before anyone complains saying that a deck containing 4 EX's isn't a budget deck, let me say this: Double Crisis is a very small set. As such, the chance of pulling a Groudon-EX for this deck is much higher than that of Primal Clash's EX's.

Anyone who has seen the scans for Double Crisis already knows the basic strategy of this kind of deck.
Groudon-EX is the prime attacker for this deck, doing 180 for 4 Energy when combined with the bench damage inflicted by Magma Hideout.
Zangoose is used as a 3-of in this deck because of how solid it is at starting, and it is a great attacker for getting around Safeguard/Jolteon/Scizor/Hippowdon as well.
Camerupt gets Energy into play, and I run 2 Fire Energy as well so we have a decent way of fighting back against Grass and Metal decks.
Claydol is for moving Energy off of Camerupt and onto Groudon, though I added 1 Energy Switch in addition because of how we can only move 2 Energy at a time.

I opted for Hard Charm over Muscle Band because we already hit 180 and because Float Stone is a bit too pricey.
Target Whistle in combination with Lysandre can take a bonus prize off of something relatively weak, especially things like Jirachi-EX. Yes, Magma Hideout does inflict damage on a Pokemon not directly put from the hand. (unless a future translation proves otherwise)
Battle Compressor gets Energy in the discard along with junk cards. It also works well with Admins to get free Pokemon search.
Life Dew is the Ace Spec of choice because it's the only one I currently own, and because Computer Search and Dowsing Machine are too expensive.

I had several reasons for running just 2 Magma Energy in here as opposed to the expected 4:

1. It can't be searched with Professor's Letter.
2. Once I use it, it's out of play for the rest of the game because I don't run Trump Card.
3. The 2 is just enough for the instance where I need a quick Knock-Out with Camerupt or Zangoose, filling the [C] [C] Requirement just right while also being compatible with Groudon-EX.
4. I can't hit Aegislash-EX with it.
5. We have Energy acceleration anyway in this deck, so the 4 line of Magma Energy is redundant.
6. Also, because I'm not too concered about Mega decks, I chose specifically to run no Strong Energy. It get's Enhance Hammer'd too easily for an effect that will only help in about 30% of my matchups.

Firstly... no Team Magma Ball. :OO What?? Better fix that up.

-2 Zangoose (Yeah, IK you said that its a good start, but really, it's average. You can do max of 100 damage for a 3 energy investment... which is a bit dodge. It also takes up your valuable bench space. Dedenne, IMO, does this job better (as a 2/3), with the ability to hit away Yveltal and Lugia (and upcoming Rayquazas), even if it is not Magma. Anyway, you should be playing enough Magma/Ultra Ball, and Admin, do the basic-poke getting.)
-1 Ultra Ball (Lets use the Magma version...)
-1 Energy Switch (You *should* be using your Claydol for this job.)
-2 Target Whistle (yeah.... no. You have no reliable way on getting this out when you actually need it, and not all decks run weak EXs.)
-1 Numel (I actually think Claydol is a priority Pokemon to set up.)
-1 Camerupt (I actually think Claydol is a priority Pokemon to set up.)

+4 Magma Great Ball (You NEED this)
+1 Shauna (Draw, draw, draw)
+1 Shauna/Admin/VS Seeker (It really depends on what you need. Do you find draw power is most required? Or are you needing the Magma Pokemon back out of the discard. Are you running out of VS Seeker? I personally would lean towards either VS Seeker or Shauna).
+1 Baltoy (I actually think Claydol is a priority Pokemon to set up.)
+1 Claydol (I actually think Claydol is a priority Pokemon to set up.)

Wow, I just came up with this same deck concept earlier today.

Anyway, I think you should consider a few things. First being Team Magma Grunt, which is very similar to the TV Reporter card in the original deck, making it somewhat useful. Its downside is also countered by Magma Admins, allowing you to get those Pokémon back whether it be from Magma Grunt, or even knockout (Making Teammates a bit more useful).

Removals:
-1 Energy Switch (Claydol's entire purpose)
-2 Target Whistle (No opponent you face will not benefit from you using this card)
-1 Life Dew (Just doesn't fit this deck)
-2 Colress (Let's face it. That card will exit rotation in a year)

Additions:
+1 Trump Card (Needed simply because of how few Magma Energy you run)
+1 Teammates (Because we know more than one of your Pokémon will be knocked out)
+2 Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick (Situational, yes. But effective in a pinch)
+2 Either Fiery Torch (Because Camerupt negates this) or AZ (Because for the most part Camerupt negates this)

You're not the only one ;)

I disagree with Maxie (especially over Colress). Maxie ruins consistency - how often are you finding a 0 card hand, honestly... And so, who cares of Colress is rotating? Gadget most likely already has him, and he is ten times more consistent than Maxie. Also, Trump Card is only needed if you're burning through your deck too quickly. The magma energy is not necessary. You want the cards in your discard, not in your deck!

Fiery torch, IMO, actually isn't that great. The torch is pretty situational, requiring you to have a [F] energy in your hand. If you want cards that effectively take two cards from your deck, use an Acro Bike. Much more consistent. AZ also takes up the turns supporter, making it effectively even worse - if you want to run other supporters, run more Admins! An AZ replacement is Super Scoop Up, and although requires a coin flip, isn't too bad.
