Hello everyone! A few months ago, I wrote a piece about Regidrago VSTAR to help players better understand the deck, as it was dominating tournaments at the time. You can find it here, and I believe lots of the information there is still relevant and useful today.
Of course, some things change and some things stay the same. There is a lot more information to discuss about Regidrago VSTAR, and it is still dominating in tournaments. There is no question that Regidrago is still the best deck in the format. Every competitive player should be intimately familiar with the deck, and as usual, there are a lot of common mistakes that still occur, even at a high level.

I don't think it's ever correct to choose to go 2nd. You want a Vstar up as quickly as possible - why would you ever choose to slow yourself down? Against charizard, goldengho, etc., it's almost game-losing to go second if they're drawing well. In the mirror match, the same applies - no matter which way you slice it, the player who gets a vstar up first usually has the ability to take 2 prizes first. Going 1st against aggressive decks like raging bolt is scary, but your main way to win the matchup is to try and sit a cleffa in the active for your first turn. Going second only gives them an extra turn to find a gust ability before they attack for the first time. Are you running squawkabilly? You should be (Makes going first more consistent). Just my two cents - haven't read the entire article tho so you might clarify some stuff in the full post.
