May's Gym Challenge Promos Revealed: Malamar, Heavy Boots, Ralts

I can see that Malamar becoming ridiculously powerful, especially in U-Turn decks. Not only does it stop players from using items like Roller Skates, Sleep Lasers and Crushing Hammers, with confusion, your opponent effectively can't attack (as they will always flip tails). Malamar-EX and other Trick Coin compatible cards will also fail completely against the card. I'm hyped!

is anyone else interested in the fact that Malamar has a Theta Anceint trait?
besides the Omega, Alpha, and Delta that were also present in the games.
or am i just looking to far into it?

I didn't realize at first Malamar had a whole new type of Trait. It will be interesting to see what else we get with it and what other AT's we will get. I wonder how long these things will stick around? Will they last beyond the XYera?

I think we might also get a Malamar in Bandit Ring, since there's been a "pattern" with these promos. In the previous gym thing we got the delta trait Fearow, then we got Fearow in Emerald Break/Roaring Skies. There's also been Heliolisk (Phantom Forces), Meowstic and Shiftry (Flashfire) and Slurpuff and Trevenant (XY). I might be grasping here, but I'm rather confident that it will happen :)

Thank God Donphan will probably be Expanded by the time this comes out.

There has been a Delta Trait Fearow and Salamence and we haven't seen either of them in English sets yet. Future promos?

It's possible. AT Regirock is a Roaring Skies promo after all. So maybe AT Fearow and/or Salaemence will be promos in the new set.

It certainly piqued my interest. In fact, to be perfectly honest, this is the first time since XY started that I have even really looked at the TCG purely because of Malamar's Theta Ancient Trait.
I'd imagine there are many people interested in it and plenty of speculation regarding what it could mean. While I imagine some people think it is hinting at something deeper, such as something video game related and it maybe could be, but I personally think speculation on that point is pretty baseless at the moment.
I personally believe that this, and maybe other upcoming Ancient Traits, is just to add a wee bit more interest and dynamic to the current TCG expansions. On that note, I doubt the Ancient Trait mechanic will stick around after this generation is by with.

Anyone else notice a shadow-like theme in the Ralts, Malamar AT and maybe even the Gardevoir shown. This may just be coincidence, but if they're both in the new set, maybe it's going to be darker than we expected...

Also, as usual since X&Y Base, I'm still hoping for a Zoroark Ex :p

I wonder if the Theta letter will be linked with Hoopa, since it is the legendary featured in Bandit Ring.
(Also, the Malamar's Ability "Amanojyaku" is the japanese name for Contrary in games.)

I honestly wasn't expecting them to continue with adding new greek letter "Ancient Traits" (I'm digging the purple). I guess I should have seen it coming with so many "not really game-breaky" traits they could do to expand the metagame. I wonder what theta-trait Hoopa/Unbound Hoopa card will receive.
