Since it's release it's seen literally no play, but I think that now that we have more Mega Pokémon coming, and the fact that we have Lysandre's Trump Card could it become more viable?

Yeah but M charizard EX X is not going to be playable. The attack costs way to much with no reliable way to accelerate energy for the 5 energy cost. And the discarding 5 cards just makes the card not good even though the attack OHKO's everything. Lysandres trump card dosent make the card any more playable. And the fact that it has a fairy weakness dosent help M charizard EX X, with the new primal clash set coming out Fairy will see more play and has a few more reliable attackers with spirit links that set up faster than M chairzard EX X that will OHKO M Charizard EX Y. Yes there are more M pokemon coming out but Charizard x is not the best option to deal with these M pokemon. M charizard EX Y is a little more playable because of cards like blacksmith and more fire support but when Primal clash comes out this card wont see much play because it is weak to water and Water decks are getting so much support.

To be fair, the one card that is helping every Mega a little is Robo Substitute, which buys you a turn for the Mega Evolution process if you don't get Lysandred.

The reason Lysandre's Trump Card helps Charizard X is to prevent Wild Blaze from decking you out.
I agree that Charizard X gets better with Primal Clash, due to how powerful Megas are getting, but I feel like there are better Megas that can OHKO other Megas. P Groudon, M Aggron, even M Gengar (copies the broken attacks Megas have for a lower Energy cost) are all better cards than Charizard X. Having no Spirit Link is really painful these days, considering other Megas do have them, and its Energy cost is a lot worse. I just don't see much point in playing it over those other Megas I think it's definitely better than Charizard Y, as Fairy is a better weakness than Water, and having to put Protection Cube on the Mega is more trouble than it's worth.

I think with a trick coin instead of a spirit link, its retreatability with darkrai makes it totally runnable. If i had the budget, I would be building the deck myself. I have a list I've been working on.
It allows the charizard it evolves from to effectively accelerate energy. Additionally, it can be accelerated by baby yveltal. Also pyroar can allow for stalling time to evolve and attach energy.
Dont build this deck. I tried some kind of charizard ex deck the last tournament i went and it did horrible! the one turn lost by mega evolving is just to hard to work with. Maybe i had some really bad luck with my matchups (most of the time donphan) but in my oppinion it takes too long to build megazard X up. even with the stoke zard. Lets say you start second. attach 1 DCE and Stoke. Heads + 3 Energy. You still have to waste a turn to get the big 300 instead of the 120 Fire Blast. But 230 HP in 2 turns your opponent can attack you isnt that much with all the strong energy muscle band, fighting stadium and so on... I´ll leave them in my binder for sure..
If you put a pyroar out and accelerate manually and with scorched earth/blacksmith you can effectively stall and build without needing to attack desprately.
