Energy:

  • 9 Fairy Energy
    3 Double Colorless

Strategy:
Essentially a typical Fairies list centered around Mega Garde. Conserve energy and sweep with Brilliant Arrow. Depending on where I'm playing I may tech in Mewtwo(s) or a Spiritomb.

What has has your experience been like playing with/against Garde/Fairies? What do you think its biggest drawbacks are? What does it do well? Is Florges Better? I have only played a handful of times with fairies and am still getting used to it. Suggestions?

RE: Mega Gardevoir/Fairies

Hi CMcQueem,

Consider these modifications to make the deck a little more consistent:

-1 Xerneas EX (not needed in this deck)
-1 Ultra Ball (needed the deck space)
-1 Computer Search (like the other Ace Spec better)
-3 Muscle Band (not needed in this deck)
-3 Double Colorless (does not boost M Gardevoir Ex)

+1 Xerneas non-Ex (you want to start with it turn one)
+1 M Gardevoir Ex (focus of the entire deck)
+1 Scoop Up Cyclone / Dowsing Maschine (both work real well in this deck)
+1 Vs Seeker (three are the ideal number from my experience)
+1 Pokemon Fan Club (turn one Geomancy is needed)
+1 Gardevoir Spirit Link (see below)
+3 Fairy Energy (basic energy is better in fairy decks)

Personally I also run Florges Ex instead of Jirachi Ex since it can also attack and snatch a supporter when needed. Hope this provides some initial assistance.

RE: Mega Gardevoir/Fairies

Thanks for the assistance Dark Espeon. I'm going to test it out a bit tonight and then I'll return here with my thoughts.

I like to add in a few Wonder Energy, just to work around some annoying attack effects. It works with Fairy Transfer and Brilliant Arrow too, and as long as you don't overload you can still get enough energy out with Xerneas. I have 2x Wonder 10x Basic Fairy.

I'm not an expert with fairy decks, but Florges decks don't have a lot of power (120 damage max with Bright Garden). With M Gardevoir-EX. you can easily blow past that limit.

EDIT: Also, you're in a bit of trouble if you run out of Fairy Gardens (obvious?). (How many decks try to counter fairies by running a lot of stadiums? not a lot...?)
