This is a deck I thought of after one of my friends showed me Mega Gengar. I instantly liked the card and I knew I could make a deck out of it. I think it goes very well with Garbodor, the combination of the two is extremely hard for your opponents to play around, and Garbodor is just generally insane. Gengar makes your opponent's afraid to play anything powerful to their bench because you can use it against them with Phantom Gate. Things like Tauros's Mad Bull GX and Seismetoad EX's Quaking Punch come to mind. Let me know what you guys think of the deck :)
 
Following are a few thoughts for your consideration:
  • Shaymin EX can still be a major liability. I'd suggest replacing one or both with Oranguru for supplemental card-draw support.
  • IMO, you'll have a near auto-loss against Dark decks most of which can definitely "out-speed" your deck in terms of setup as well as 1HKO capability (since your Gengar EX line is Weak to D Pokémon attacks and D Pokémon will typically have Resistance against Psychic Pokémon attacks too).
  • Your opponent can also "limit" M Gengar EX's attack damage output by controlling which Pokémon the opponent places into play.
  • Why no counter Stadium like Altar of the Moone, Dimension Valley and/or Parallel City?
  • Why no Computer Search or Dowsing Machine?

the inability to deal with turbo dark was the first thing I was going to bring up, that deck needs 5 energy to OHKO anything on your field and can get there without putting Darkrai in 2HKO range to Garb and without providing any scary attacks to Gengar. Darkrai is basically dead in standard but still one of the top dogs of expanded imo, especially common in PTCGO.

Archeops is also a pain for this deck due to lack of basic attackers or evolution acceleration that works around it. A Hex Maniac could help this problem.

I will try with -1 Shaymin +1 Oranguru, I agree Shaymin is a liability. I still haven't met a Dark deck, and I agree that would be an autoloss scenario, but I don't see a good way to fix that. As to limiting Gengar's damage output, you have to shift to Garb. If they aren't using items either, well...then you are kinda in trouble. A counter Stadium is a possibility but Field Blower works and space was tight so I couldn't fit any in. No Comp. Search is simply because I don't have one yet. Thanks for the help :)

Yeah, the Dark matchup is definitely scary. I will consider adding a Hex, maybe losing the fourth Spirit Link for it since I only run 3 Gengars. Thanks for the advice :)
