Ruling Mega Pokemon Clarification

I saw a similar question in the FAQs but it didn't go into the specific detail I was looking for. I know that Megas are not Basic Pokémon since they can attack Pyroar, but I also know that not being a Basic doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a Stage 1.

Q: Is a Mega Pokémon considered a Stage 1 Pokémon, thus receiving the effects of Training Center and similar cards?

Mega Evolutions are not stage 1 pokemon, therefore do not receive the boost from Training Center. Mega Evolutions are Mega-Evolved pokemon, not Stage 1 pokemon.
