Assumption: I'm assuming the Olivia revealed recently will be part of Guardians Rising
Short summary: Many people know about Bronzong PHF Genesect-EX FCO decks in Expanded. With the release of Guardians Rising, a new Metal accelerator has been revealed to us: Metagross-GX. While harder to set up than it's Expanded counterpart, Metagross-GX is more versatile (though we don't use that versatility in this deck) and has actually decent attacks
Concept: Use Metagross-GX's Geotech-System to allow Genesect-EX (FCO 64) to use a full power Rapid Blaster (160 damage base if 3 [M] are discarded) every turn. Boost damage with Dhelmise, Kukui and Fighting Fury Belt to hit OHKOs on almost any Pokemon. Max Potions can keep your Genesects alive, and using Genesect's Drive Change alongside Float Stone and Fighting Fury Belt will allow Genesect to be able to switch out or prepare for attack easily. Use 1 Tapu Lele-GX, 1 Hoopa-EX, and 2 Shaymin-EX for draw. Magearna prevents poisoning or other nasty effects. Sky Field helps hold all your Pokemon on bench.
Set List (Beta):
Pokemon- 19
- 3x Beldum
- 1x Metang
- 3x Metagross-GX
- 4x Genesect-EX
- 3x Dhelmise
- 1x Tapu Lele-GX
- 2x Shaymin-EX
- 1x Magearna-EX
- 1x Hoopa-EX
Trainers- 34
-3x Ultra Ball
-1x Super Rod
-2x Max Potion
-1x Rescue Stretcher
-2x Trainers' Mail
-3x Rare Candy
-3x Sky Field
-4x VS Seeker
-4x Sycamore
-2x N
-2x Lysandre
-1x Kukui
-1x Olivia
-1x Skyla
-2x Fighting Fury Belt
-2x Float Stone
Energy - 7
- 7x Metal Energy
Potential issues:
- Consistency: only 7 energy and 1 Super Rod to recycle it. If Metagross can't be set up in time, lots of energy can be lost to the discard. Handfuls of 1-ofs and 2-ofs in the deck means that prizing of cards can be an issue.
-Draw: relying only on Shaymin for non-Supporter draw can mean that late game N plays can put you in a pinch. Only 2 Trainers' Mail cards can mean less guaranteed supporter draw.
-Setup: Genesect attacks for 3[M] minimum. Tapu Lele has probably the fastest usable attacks for any of the basics we play, put that's still a 2[C] and we don't play DCE. Our attack engine relies on preparing Metagross, a Stage 2, as soon as possible, which can be difficult.
-Bench space: We play so many different supporting cards that bench space becomes scarce. Sky Field doesn't stay in play forever, so deciding which benchwarmers will stay and which ones will go can be hard.
[Edit: Thinking about using Choice Band alongside Fighting Fury Belt, dropping Magearna, and lowering to perhaps 2 Dhelmise while maybe also taking out Super Rod and adding 1 more Metal Energy.]
