Discussion Metagross/Solgaleo (underated in my opinion)

In my opinion Metagross/Solgaleo seems better than everyone thinks. I recently played this deck at a regionals competion and got top 16, using this deck. Many people underrate it because of its consistency but those people run 1-0 Skyla. while the deck that got me to top 16 runs a 4-3-4 line of Metagross, a 2-1 line of solgaleo, 4 rare candy, 4 ultra ball, 1 heavy ball, 2 brigette and 3 Skyla. Quite consistent in my opinion. Well here is my deck list if you are interested. if you have questions don't hesitate to ask.

I think Metagross is in a really weird place in the meta right now. It’s true that it’s good at tanking hits from Zoroark and Gardevoir decks, but in the case of Zoroark (which, if the results of Memphis Regionals are any indication, is the new top dog of Standard), Metagross relies a lot on Solgaleo to take KOs. Zoroark decks are naturally much more consistent than Metagross, which means they’ll usually have an easier time trading 2HKOs.

As for the list itself, I personally think that Dhelmise is a worthy inclusion in any Metagross list, since it lets Banded Metagross OHKO Buzzwole, and also lets Solgaleo OHKO Decidueye w/o Band. Also, I know Garbotoxin is not THAT prevalent in the meta right now, but playing Metagross with 0 Field Blower just seems like an awful idea (unless you accidentally didn’t list them...)
 
sorry @Timmony_tcg there is supposed to be 2 field blower in the deck list and where I said that solgaleo is a 2-1 line I meant to say was 2-2. Why I don't run dehmise is that as I have found out deck space is precious and with all the cards I mentioned to help get these pokemon as fast a possible out in play means there is really no necessity for it.
 
With new sologeo coming out and dusk necro. Metagross will be taken out . And the decks will have alot better set up with all the new metal stuff. I love metagross n solo decks . I use mine alot with different tech cards. I personal like physic 3rd eye paired with professors letters. And also skarmory due to so many decks are using more and more special energys
 
There is a super rod in this deck so in late game and there are no energies left in the deck you can super rod for 3 energies in the deck then sycamore/n/Skyla-Professors letter.
Super rod is just there because you can get energies as well as pokemon
(having super rod in the deck won me plenty of games at regionals therefor I got top 16 (13th)
 
Use netagross ability for energy. Super rod isnt a good card for metagross decks. If u need pokemon out of discard rescue is better by far. N supper rod wouldnt be why you. And bragging over and over what you placed is silly
 
yes I know you use geotech system but if you only have two in play you still need to attach an energy in order to attack. and I only said what I placed so people know how effective it could be.
 
Ive placed well too with dologeo metagrosd but i use very different play style . Its all about the person play style and how they react to matches. You can take anyntop deck n copy it . It dont mean you will do good. If you get matched over n over to a deck ur weak against you wont do well. Its all about knowing and understanding the meta and rogue decks. Like due to currebt meya shifting to more special energy i use skamory in my deck. But against decks that dont use special energy. I use it as a discard for Sophocles or ultra ball. I also really like heavy ball and evosoda. Its all about personal plau style. I dont use scyomore in my deck. I test it alot and never get it when i can use it without duscarding important cards in my hand. So i prefer physic 3rd eye. I also use machamp now in my deck due to current meta . I like it more then mr mime. What works for me not not work for any one else.
Ive played metagross sence madison reg last year. It changes each set . But every cup n regional i use it. Until new solo comes out ill use it. Then ill be takimg metagross out or even do 1 n1 of new sologeo. Not sure do to cards not out. I like to fully test things. I play alot and try to expanded my play style.
