Okay, so I use to run a Metagross/Raichu line which earned 6th out of 32 at BRs. The ability to move around the opponents pokemon seems like a good way to dissrupt them while powering up Metagross' Extra Comet Punch (50 at first then 100 damage each turn afterwards as long as he doesnt return to bench).

I realized that I wanted to make Metgross as fast as possible and always have at least 2 metagrosses out at the same time for a higher chance at using Magnetic Reversal each turn. Here is what I came up with for a speedy set up. I have all these cards. Please criticize me and help me in any way possible.

Metagross LA 4-3-4 (Beldums with Metal Chain to get more Beldums. Metang that retreats if it has a metal energy on it)

Blaziken FB- 2-1
Sableye- 2
Spiritomb- 3
Uxie- 2
Unown Q- 1
Ambipom G- 1 23 Pokemon Total

Bebe's- 3
Poke Collector- 2
PONT- 2
Cyrus- 1
Seeker- 1
Palmer's- 1 10 Supporters total

Poke Communication- 2
BTS- 2
Rare Candy- 3
Energy Exchange- 2
Warp Point- 2
Luxury Ball- 1
Energy Gain- 1 13 Trainers Total

Metal- 6
Special Metal- 3
Fire- 1
DCE- 4 14 Total Energy

WIll listen to all suggestions. Thanks! :D

Have you considered Expert Belt?

Put 4 sableye instead of 2 and 3 spiritomb because it trainer lock yourself.

I don t know but putting SPs in the deck is, for me, meh... Then, you have to add stuff good for them. Why not try to use only Metagross as an attacker by putting some rescue energies?

There is Metagross UL which can give you free retreat to every of your pokemon with Phychic energies. Plus, an DCE and it can hit for 60. I personnally use it and it is very good.

Yes- I'll be sure to add in some Expert Belts. As for the Sp's, I kinda agree with you. I'll most likly take out Blaziken since it counters Dialga. But, If im playing Metagross right, then I shouldnt be running into that problem!

And are you sure sableye should start for this deck? I kinda feel like Spiritomb should be there to slowdown the opponent and evolve my beldums.

Oh! And I'll be sure to throw twins in there as well!

Unfortunately, I think a deck like this will never make it in today's meta. I have a deck just like this, with a 4-2-4 Metagross LA/Metang SV/Beldum LA line, just like you. But the fact is that it's far too easy to drop a Warp Point, or Bright Look something else active and dissrupt Metagross swinging for 100 every turn.

I use this deck as a purely casual deck, although my list does happen to be mod-legal. I don't have the 1-1 Blaziken tech that you do, so I can't speak for the usefulness of that, but I do know that my deck, which uses straight 4-2-4 Metagross to attack, with a really crappy 1-1 Foretress UD line(not sure what to put here, maybe you can help me out haha), gets swapped out often by my friend who runs Magnezone LA. It has a move called Gyro Ball, which allows him to switch out. If he does, I also have to switch out, thus ending the Extra Comet Punch loop, if you will.

That is why to put Metagross UL, it gives you 0 retreat.

The point is that Metagross can easily be removed from the active spot reducing the damage of extra comet punch back down to 50. Giving Metagross free retreat (as well as having to tech in {P} energy just to make the tech work) won't make the deck better because there shouldn't a be a moment where Meatgross should ever optionally go back to the bench.

So if i understand, effect on the pokemon are removed after benching. my bad.

Just a thought, maybe you can put another attacker (like Metagross UL!) instead of this one. The LA ones are for disruption. Don t take my idea if you want to stay with LA metagross.

Maybe, I always liked the idea of setting up 2 Metagrosses LA on the bench for disruption. Heck, even one would move around the opponent 50% of the time!

What do you guys think about teching in a 1-0-1 Metagross LA line into heavy hitting decks like scizor or donphan?

That looks cool to me but instead, you can put other that are better than him like Nidoqueen (Back-up too)...

P.S.: you might need to do another thread for your new "DonGross?"deck.
