Metal Decks (Scizor EX)

With regards to the new Breakpoint Steel type addition to the TCG format, I want to build a deck which utilises the Low attack cost and high damage of Mega Scizor EX. Before posting any decklists, I would like to know if there are any Trainers which can lock the DP in place as I would like to incorporate 3-4 Jirachis with Doom Desire. Thanks in advance
 
Defending Pokemon, sorry I use it in other threads

Basically if the Defending Pokemon changes after I use Doom Desire, one I lose Jirachi (a prize), two it is a waste of energy
 
In the current standard format it may prove to be a bit rough as things like sleep is less prominent as Hypnotoxic Laser was moved to expanded. You can try using Hypno from Breakpoint as it puts you and your opponents' Pokémon to sleep. You can try using cards like All-Night Party, Switch, and Zoroark's Rush In ability.

Status effects drop off significantly after the rotation this past season unfortunately and mainly are available in terms of Pokémon abilities at this point.
 
Ah well, I guess I'll have to stick to Lysandre and Escape Rope for now. So I was thinking 3-3 M Scizor Line, 4 Jirachi, 2-2 Metal links, and 2 Aegislash EX. Would you say that could work?
 
It's a good line up, if you can get it to work. Honestly, the best way to pull of a Doom Desire would to be add things like Enhanced Hammers to lock your opponent out of retreating and to possibly keep Jirachi alive for another turn. If you are feeling like the deck is slow though, may need to add a Shaymin EX if you have an extra one around.
 
Considering the Pokemon in this deck are pretty easy to power, I think it would be safer for me to use team flare grunts than hammers
