MewNectric (Mew EX / Manectric EX)

This is a cool deck idea that I wanted to show off for a while, but didn't know where I should post it so I figured here was the best place.

Pokemon:

  • 4 Mew EX
    2-1 M Manectric EX
    1 Shaymin EX
    1 Absol
    1 Thundurus (FF)
    1 Rayquaza (LT)
    1 Dedenne (FF)
    1 Jirachi EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 4 Dimensional Valley
    4 Professor Juniper
    4 N
    2 Colress
    2 Skyla
    2 VS Seeker
    2 Lysandre
    1 Lysandre's Trump Card
    1 Xerosic
    1 Manectric Spirit Link
    3 Muscle Band
    4 Ultra Ball
    1 Computer Search
    2 Switch
    1 Professor's Letter
    1 Startling Megaphone
    1 Head Ringer
    1 Jamming Net
Energy:

  • 6 Lightning Energy
    4 Rainbow Energy

Strategy: Take advantage of Mew EX's Versitility, copying either your opponent's attacks or your own. With Dimensional Valley and Rainbow energy, any 2 energy attack with at least one colorless energy requirement can be done with 1 energy, allowing for some extremely cheap attacks.

Mew EX: The star of the deck. I think Mew often gets overlooked because it's an easy two prizes, but being able to use so many attacks, not just yours, but your opponents can be really effective.

Manectric EX: The one you're copying the most. On it's own, it's a cheap attacker, but with Mew/Dimensional Valley, it gets Ridiculous. 20 and 20 snipe for no energy and up to 120 for one energy. Being able to destroy Yveltal EX is a nice bonus.

Mega Manectric EX: Ridiculously powerful. Again, with Mew/Valley, this can attack for just one energy, dealing 110 and getting energy back. It's actually a hard card to utalize because there aren't many good Lightning attackers, but it works here mainly as a Pyroar counter.

Shaymin EX: Probably the best card for Mew to copy. The only thing that can reach 180 for one energy.

Absol: Mind Jack is also good, especially on a one prize attacker.

Thundurus: There's nothing really great about this card, but it's nice to have a pokemon that a) Doesn't need rainbow energy b) only gives up one prize. I thought of Zekrom, but I wanted to try this since it doesn't self damage.

Rayquaza: Safeguard Pokemon and Pyroar are a pain. Shred takes care of them. Dragon Pulse could also be used in weird situations (lightning attack cost).

Dedenne: Not one, but two good (C) attacks which Mew can use for Free. Probably not needed, but hey, it's more options.

Jirachi EX: Consistency. I can essentially ultra ball for a supporter early game.

Trainers

Dimensional Valley: The second star. It's crucial to the deck's strategy which is why I play four.

Juniper/N/Colress: Pretty much staple supporters.

Skyla: Never a bad supporter. There are quite a few one ofs in this deck.

VS Seeker: Love this card. Wish I could run more than 2.

Lysandre: I consider this a staple.

Trump Card: One of the best one of's. Nothing will be gone forever (especially good with Rainbow Energy).

Xerosic: Has lots of uses, but mainly for Garbodor/Seismatoad.

M Phone: Another card for Garbodor.

Spirit Link: Saving that turn lost is huge.

Muscle Band/Ultra Ball/Computer Search/Switch: Shouldn't need to explain these ones.

Professors Letter: Good way to get energy to discard with Ultra Ball for Mega Manectric.

Head Ringer/Jammer Net: In case they don't have a tool, Manectric can still hit for 120.

There are a lot of different variations (I've also tried one with Virizion EX), but this one is a lot of fun. It did well in the two games I played.

I don't like shooting down new deck ideas immediately, but this ruling kinda shuts down the whole "Speed Mew" concept. eek don't get mad at me im sorry

Maybe not. There's been other threads where that question has been asked and the answer was yes.

I think that if Mew EX can't use the Poliwhirls attacks if Politoad is in play, the same will apply with Dimension Valley

The thread on PokéGym and the thread on the OP forums about this ruling have not received an official answer yet.
It seems the Japanese ruling makes the cost of Mew-EX attacks acquired through Versatile reduced by 1 when Dimension Valley is in play.

This is different. Politoed's Ability King's Song applies only to Poliwrath, Poliwhirl and Poliwag. Mew-EX has to use the printed costs on these cards.
Dimension Valley applies to Mew-EX.
The issue here is establishing whether or not attacks used through the Ability Versatile belong to Mew or not.

Pooka's latest TCGO video showed him using the combo to use Joltik's Night March for one energy.

I believe we have an updated ruling for this scenario.

Basically Mew EX can use Dimensional Valley to help pay for the attacks of non [P] Pokemon.

i really like this idea. I suggest doing

-1 Dedenne
-1 VS Seeker

Since you run Manectric, Dedenne is not exactly a must have here.
+1 Mega Manectric EX
+1 Cobalion EX

Mega Manectric EX can easily beat Pyroars and Yveltal, and 110 damage for 1 energy is insane.
Cobalion EXs second attack allows you to go through pyroar and Safeguard easily without worrying about weakness.

Good idea!

^100% disagree with cobalion.

Mewtric is a pretty solid idea though I'm not 100% sold on mew outside of trev/accelgor due to mewtwo still being a solid card out there this deck loses matchup speed and power due to it. I think having seismetoad and yvetal offers solid matchup coverage, dmg reduction from fighting and stall coverage for the deck which are good things to have in this format, donphan is gaining popularity and it's good to have a solid answer.

Edit: if raindance decks prose a threat why not run frozen city because you attache from the discard pile.

Yeah, Cobalion doesn't really work for the deck since it would require 2 rainbow to pull off. Seismatoad and Yveltal aren't bad ideas (Mewtwo would be good too), but one nice thing about Mew is that it can copy your opponent's attacks.

As for Frozen City, it would interfere with Dimensional Valley. Besides, I think the deck has answers to that threat in the form of Shaymin EX (A card I consider a staple in any Mew/Valley deck).

Virizion-EX should work really well with Mew-EX.
Emerald Slash for a single Grass to get a huge Energy boost early game, and retrieve Energies from discard late-game with M Manectric-EX.

You don't need so many techs, just use Mew-EX with Virizion-EX, Manectric-EX and Head Ringers. Add something vs Suicune PLB and you're set.

I agree with these attackers, and the Safeguard counter would be your Rayquaza with Shred, or Regigigas PHF, which can be an amazing tank after using Daunt. There are drawbacks to each though, with Rayquaza needing Rainbow Energy and Regigigas needing DCE in the deck.

I really like this. Low-cost attackers are so much fun to play around with. Will be trying ASAP.
Right off the bat, do this:
- Absol
- Thundurus
- Dedenne

+1 Virizion-EX (as mentioned by froggy)
+1 Skyla (Valley is too important to risk anything)

The last slot should be a grass energy. It really should. There are SO many ways to discard Rainbow now, and if you come up against immunity or need a vital 180 hit, you need an out. Plus, you now have two grass starters with the possibility of energy accel. that you can jumpstart with Letter.

I would like to point out that Virizion only accelerates Grass Energy from the deck. If you want to use it in this way, you'll need to add several Grass Energy so that they will be in the deck. Personally, I think the job of Energy acceleration should be left to Manectric, and Virizion, if included, should really only be here for status protection and a counter to Seismitoad.
