Discussion Mewtwo-EX or Lugia-EX

I'm questioning myself the use of the old Mewtwo-EX over the new Lugia-EX.
One is Psy, weak to psy, the other is Colorless, weak to Lightning but the same attack can be used.
Which one pairs the better with decks like Blastoise/Archie/Keldeo-EX or Seismitoad-EX/Yveltal-EX ?
And why ?

I'd assume it's because Mewtwo can hit for weakness. Though Lugia's second attack can come in handy.

This. Lugia's second attack is insanely good, and potentially better than the first attack as it can 1-hit KO without much difficulty. That said, I reckon it may be better to run a split of 1/2 Mewtwo and 1 Lugia for the weakness hitting (especially on fellow Mewtwo).

I like Lugia over Mewtwo as a character so I'll pick Lugia every time. Its second attack is also pretty good but just go with your gut.

IMO, Lugia EX is an overall "stronger" attacker based upon its 2nd attack ("everything" else is fairly equal, IMO). However, considering the amount of Lightning Pokemon (M Manectric EX, Manectric EX, Ampharos EX, Raichu, Dedenne, etc.) that are played, Lugia EXs, as well as other Lightning-weak Poke, are at 1HKO risk more so Mewtwo EX, IMO. Depending upon the deck, one can mitigate that risk with little effort: for example, I run Lugia EX in my Darkrai EX deck where I can nullify its Weakness with Dark energy and Shadow Circle.

Another key consideration is the "how" you intend to use Poke as an attacker. I use both Mewtwo EX and Lugia EX primarily for its X-ball attack. Rarely (perhaps never) have I ever used Lugia EX' Deep Hurricane attack; but, it's a nice option to have IF the CCCC energy cost's acceleration could be facilitated in a decent number of turns (i.e., < 2) - but again, that dpends upon the deck.

There's so much nostalgia with Mewtwo EX for me, and I still have a playset of them sitting around, so I'll probably just stick with Mewtwo even if Lugia is slightly better. That doesn't sound very competitive; I'll admit it.

Eh it depends honestly. I can see Mewtwo being better because it's a hard counter to things like Wobbufett and possibly bats too. You also gain on losing weakness to things like Raichu too so that's always nice.
