  • 2 Super Rod
  • 4 Skyla
  • 1 Scramble SwItch or Life Dew
Energy 14

  • 10 Grass energy
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
Freespace 2

Strategy

Start with Virizion active and Mewtwo benched, emerald slash to charge up Mewtwo. Then switch in mewtwo, be invincible to special conditions, and x-ball to victory. I would like to fill the free space with a klinklang counter. Thoughts?

RE: Mewtwo/Virizion/Lasers

You'll need to take out revive, those are no longer in format. If you want non EX attackers for this deck, go with bouffalant.

RE: Mewtwo/Virizion/Lasers

I would suggest scramble switch as your ace. It can help power up the following mewtwo.

RE: Mewtwo/Virizion/Lasers

Hmm. Forgot that revive is out of format. Thx. Yeah, that was my initial thought with Bouffalant, though I'd like something to OHKO Cobalion EX or Klinklang, and against Sigilyph or Suicune Bouffalant isn't the best, but he is colorless with fighting weakness. Scramble Switch seems like a good call, but Virizion isn't going to have much energy on him ever. Maybe something different like life dew so that he has to KO 4?

RE: Mewtwo/Virizion/Lasers

I would drop energy retrieval as well. With virizion ex, its better they go back into your deck to accelerate out again. So super rods are the way to go. I also dont think 3 is needed. Since none of your pokemon discard energy, and you only have 10 grass, 2 super rods is probably enough, maybe even 1. After you lose 2 or 3 pokemon, you either lost or are so close to losing that additional super rods are pointless.

Hmm, yeah, used to my Blastoise/Keldeo deck.

List edited. What should I fill the freespace with?

Why no Catcher? (preparing for the post- November 8th rule changes)

Since Mewtwo EX is your primary attacker and you have extra card slots, I'd suggest you maximize this Poke in your deck. Secondly, as far as a Klingklang counter, I'd suggest you consider Victini EX which also fits the energy attachment acceleration deck theme, as well as provides a counter to other Virizion EX and Genesect EXs. Needless to say, your energy mix would need to be revised - but not difficult at all (I've found that 3 R energy and 1 Energy Search seems to work well). Another option could be ND Moltress.

Have you played against any Plasma decks yet? Your Mewtwo EXs will become prime Catcher-1HKO targets as soon as you attach 2 energy onto any of your Mewtwo EXs. Assume the Eviolites will be Scrappered. My test results have been less than 50-50. Yours?

Yeah, I've designed this deck for post Nov 8. And I've never really liked using or playing against catchers. Victini EX counters shift gear klinklangs okay but the other one (the one I'm more concerned about) is invincible to all EX attackers. Putting some fire into this deck would be interesting, kind of messy with the energy (as you mentioned). Another Mewtwo seems good. What about Scramble Switch or Life Dew?
