Ruling Mienshao and Rocky Helmet.

Rocky helmet deals 20 damage to the attacking pokemon my Mienshoa has 20 hp left and will die wen he attacks

But mienshoa has the attack
40 damage (return this pokemon and all cards attached to it to your hand)

What happens first does my attack resolve or does rocky helmet kill my mienshoa

Furious fists and I don't know where rocky helmet is from I don't know many cards. And first time I have ever been to a league. The professor ruled against it. Which is fine professors ruling is final however I still believe the attack finishes before any other effects take place and I want to see what others think so for future I have an actual answer
