Okay so my TOs are EXTREMELY psycho. We've verified this. Now they want to instate new rules to the store since I told them off. These rules are quite obviously targeted personally at me, since I'm the only one who says rules or buys japanese cards.

NEW RULE #1 - NO JAPANESE CARDS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE STORE DURING LEAGUE OR TOURNAMENTS. STORE POLICY.
are they actually allowed to do this or should I be on the phone with POP?

NEW RULE #2 - LEGENDS AWAKENED CARDS MAY NOT BE USED TODAY, EVEN THOUGH WE TOLD YOU 5 TIMES YOU COULD.
Please note - I'm the only one with enough LA stuff to make a LA deck, and they only did that so I couldn't play in the fun tourny today.

The only person these affect are me. They are super pissed because I disagree with them on rules all the time and show them the compendium, and they hate that I bought japanese cards instead of buying theirs, EVEN THOUGH I STILL WOULD HAVE BOUGHT BOXES IF THEY WOULDNT HAVE DONE THIS.

Yeah, needless to say our new league starts tuesday.

Anyways, are they allowed to do this?
 
Rule 1: Yes, contact Pop. Make sure to inform them what you mentioned before in your other topic too.

Rule 2: I wasn't there to hear that message, but yea, I think he did say it.. Even though Paula let the kid I faced last use LA cards.. His sister got to use too. Thats ban for not letting others use them.

Rule 3: They can't just make up rules. Only POP can make up rules.

Basically, all of which you stated is not allowed.
 
I don't know about the others, but...

The Compendium is nothing but a compilation of official rulings. They're straight from PUI - you quite literally cannot find a more official source. And PUI has even said that the Compendium may be used as a reference, so unless there's been a memo that no one on the planet is aware of, the word of PUI supersedes some insignificant TO.
 
Heh, its about time somebody else has a complaint about this. Man o' man. I got scolded by two or three parents today, because my sister plays with 7 IFIDS cards in her deck, and I brought translations. And they are all like..."aRe YoU aLlOwEd To UsE tHoSe, even at league?" And I was like,"Chill out. Its just fun league play, its not official. My God, settle down..."
 
I suppose they could ban japense cards from the store, but it would have to be at all times. The next one is up to the league leader, though it seems kinda rediculous. That last one is completely against the rules and pop should be contacted.
 
I just sent POP a message about them. I'm sick of them trying to control everyone. Everything they do is targeted at me.

PROTIP: I've bought 6-7 boxes from them in the past few months. NOBODY else buys boxes from them. How am I undermining their business if I'm their ONLY business?
 
all ive got to say is it sounds like some one just want to feel important so there going to pick on the only guy that buys there stuff (makes tons of sense to me lol NOT) i hope POP dose some thing about this cause this all sounds like BS to me but I'm not a TO so i cant make official ruling
 
It's just really wierd, honestly. Why are they trying to stab their only business in the back? Everyone else buys cards other places.

Stigma massaged POP? That's getting too friendly. o_O Anyways, a way to stab them is by hurting them in their wallets: Don't buy there and don't go there. They'll see what they're losing.

#1: they're allowed to do that if the cards haven't been released in English with that artwork, otherwise they're breaking a rule

#2: Until August 20, they can do that (but it's still mean)

#3:Contact POP and link to the Compendium

I suggest you take your business elsewhere...
 
ok burnpsy your answers for 1-2 are wrong , it is a league for fun (I think)

1. you can use japanesse cards if you want
2. you can use LA cards if you want
 
1) Compendium says: Q. Can you have Japanese or other foreign cards in your deck and if so, do you have to have an English equivalent of each different foreign card outside your deck?
A. Yes, foreign cards are allowed. However, you must have an English or local-language version of the card, outside the deck, for reference purposes [or a print out of the official Card-Dex text]. (Jan 22, 2004 PUI Rules Team; Mar 31, 2005 PUI Rules Team)

So, they are incorrect....HOWEVER, store policy might supercede that of PUI....

2) Sounds like an unfair move, but I believe that can be done, despite what they said.

3) Obviously cannot be done.

Report them, as you already have, and take your business to another place. End of story.

Lol, hot massaging. And btw, ITS A LEAGUE. YOU CAN PLAY AROUND. It's okay. It doesn't even count. I can play YGO (Though I hate it) and it's okay.
 
That's lame dude. Even if you do manage to prove to them that what they're doing isn't allowed, are they going to stop? Or will they just crack down on you even worse since you took it one step further?

Is there another cardstore in your area? If so, screw it, just go there.

And, you could be a meanie, and encourage other people to go to the other store instead by sharing your story. ^^

Best of luck with it man. I'm sure bad things will be a'coming their way, regardless of what happens next.
 
Actually we're starting our own league and we already have like 15 people from there wanting to come...so woohoo :D
