Hey fellow Beach Bums,
So this is probably mostly for those of you playing in Anaheim this weekend, but probably will be of benefit to the rest of us as well - here are the most common Pokemon I've seen since Feb 4, and the number of times I've gone up against them.
Yveltal 18
Darkrai EX 18
Garbodor 16
Yveltal EX 13
M Mewtwo EX 12
Volcanion 11
Volcanion EX 9
Oranguru 8
Octillery 8
Tauros GX 8
Giratina EX 7
Flareon EX 7
Manaphy EX 7
Decidueye GX 6
Zoroark 6
Lurantis GX 6
Talonflame 5
Lugia EX 5
Gumshoos GX 5
Solgaleo GX 5
Starmie 5
Typhlosion 5
M Scizor EX 5
Umbreon GX 4
Passimian 4
Electrode 4
Glaceon EX 4
Regice 4
Greninja Break 4
Gyarados 4
Bunnelby 4
Kind of makes you want to think about running Passimian or Zygarde right? And Volcanion (11 times) is almost as common as Decidueye and Lurantis combined (12). And as expected, my favorite Greninja has completely dropped off the face of the planet, and rightly so. I've been trying to keep it relevant by pairing it with Lapras GX, but it just hasn't gone well.
Getting back on track, I have played 172 matches in the past two weeks, and I've gone 100-72 in those matches (58%). And I've played a TON of Darkrai myself over that time frame, 57 matches, going 40 and 17 in them. If you want to see my Super Turbo Darkrai decklist, you can find it over in the deck garage:

I've actually gone 18-4 with it over my past 22 games. I highly recommend at least considering some of the unusual choices I've made (Random Receivers and Puzzles of Time), but it may need to be better balanced as it is extremely vulnerable to Carbink, Regice, and Jolteon EX, but I've seen them so infrequently, it's more than worth it to cut some corners when playing on PTCGO. You might want to put those corners back though if you're going to Anaheim.
My second most played deck was Lurantis Lock, 38 times. The rest of my matches are fairly evenly split over a wide variety of decks.
And here's how my opponents did against me (Opponents wins, Opponents losses, Opponents win pct.):
Tauros GX 7-1 88%
M Scizor EX 4-1 80%
Flareon EX 5-2 71% (proving that Flareon is STILL the best partner with Volcanion EX)
Giratina EX 5-2 71%
Volcanion EX 6-3 67%
Decidueye GX 4-2 67%
Garbodor 10-6 63%
Octillery 5-3 63%
Darkrai EX 10-8 56%
Yveltal EX 7-6 54%
Lurantis GX 3-3 50%
Solgaleo GX 2-3 40%
M Mewtwo EX 2-10 17%
Oranguru 1-7 13%
So I know that these are really small sample sizes and this is very new, but I just wanted to summarize what I've been seeing for you guys.
Good luck for those of you going to Anaheim, I'm living vicariously through you. Hopefully there'll be live streaming!
