Strategy
I was just wondering, if “old school” cards can actually oppose the new and more powerful cards from newest era, so I thought about deck, which, in my opinion, can at least have chance.

Strategy of this deck is just simple forbid opponent to get stronger cards into play (evolutions, strong-effective supporters and other trainer cards…) – and that all from the safe place – bench; through formidable Pokémon-Powers. It has two potentional “main destroyers” – either Mr. Mime (Jungle) or Ursaring (Ex Unseen Forces). While Mr. Mime’s Pokémon-Power allow opponent to damage Mr. Mime with direct damage only for 10 or 20 and its attack, that gets stronger with every damage counter on the defending Pokémon; if you can get Ursaring into play, opponent’s Basic Pokémon doesn’t technically have chance to attack, due to Ursaring’s blocking Poké-Body (which I’m not complete sure, because of attacks with effects, that negates all effects on the Defending Pokémon, such as Latias EX for example – this is one of my few questions here: Ursaring technically stops opponent’s Basic Pokémon from attacking, but if you send out Pokémon with an attack with effect like this Latias EX, which one has the preference? Ursaring’s Poké-Body or Latias EX’s attack?).

Another target of this deck, is, like I said above, blocking and forbid playing evolution and trainer cards, and, if possible, have your active Pokémon full heal. So there is Dark Vileplume from old Team Rocket with Pokémon-Power “Hay Fever”, which constantly blocks for both players playing any trainer cards (that’s why you have to play all of your important trainer cards before Dark Vileplume comes into play). Next “star” is old Aerodactyl from Fossil, that’s very tricky card, especially because it forbids playing evolution cards from being played, but again for both players, so that’s problem, if you don’t get all of your evolution into play quick. That’s why Dark Dragonair from old Team Rocket is here to help you with its Pokémon-Power “Evolutionary Light” which allows you to find your evolutions through your deck once per turn (and another three Celio’s Networks are here to help you to get all the evolutions more quickly). Another important member is the duo of Bellossom (Ex Hidden Legends) and Wigglytuff (Ex FireRed & LeafGreen), which constantly heal your active or all Pokémon respectively from damage or special conditions respectively. Last important member is Dugtrio from Ex Crystal Guardians, which makes the shield for all of your Benched Pokémon.
What if you have some important cards in your prizes? That’s why there is Rattata from Team Rocket and Here Comes Team Rocket card, which reveals your prize cards and allow you to change them for top card of your deck respectively.

What to do if your opponent defeats one of your important members too fast? That’s why there is old card from Team Rocket expansion (this set was really helpful with all the good cards): Nightly Garbage Run, which allow you to shuffle your fainted Pokémon back into your deck or Time Capsule from Neo Genesis, which allows both players search through their discard piles for up to 5 Basic Pokémon/Evolution cards/Energies and shuffle them back into their decks.

Ideal is starting with Challenge! from Team Rocket to get your Basic Pokémon on your Bench super quickly; then use combination of Dark Dragonair’s Pokémon-Power and Celio’s Network to get your evolutions as soon as possible, while Mr. Mime will delay your opponent from using stronger attacks (and if it is finished, then you can send out Ursaring and vice versa). If opponent gets his/her evolutions too quickly, there is Ancient Technical Machine [Rock] which devolves all of his/her Pokémon, whenever you already played Aerodactyl. Because Rattata and Dark Dragonair are usable only for early game, there are Mr. Fujis, which allows you to return them back into your deck (or alternate Mr. Briney’s Compassion from Ex Dragon expansion, which returns them into your hand).

Finally, there are Recycle energies from Neo era because of their effect tu return themselves to your hand to make sure you never run out of energy, and Double Colorless energies to charge your Pokémon (especially Ursaring) more quickly.

My first target was using the cards only from BS through Neo 4 (with exception for Gym series, see below), but Vileplume (Jungle) heal your Pokémon for 10 damage only when you flips heads, so I’ve decided for Bellossom from Ex Hidden Legends. Another case is Ursaring from Ex Unseen Forces – none of cards from the first 8 expansions has effect like Ursaring’s Poké-Body (I’m not sure with Gym series, but I personally don’t like owner’s Pokémon; that’s why I’m not using any of them in my decks). And Dugtrio from Ex Crystal Guardians – that’s the same case: none of the oldest cards has similar effect. There are few trainer cards from newer expansions just for getting some other cards more quickly.

What do you think about this? Did I miss anything here? Is there a chance to make that deck even better (with the old cards only)? I'd really appreciate your opinions. ;-)
