Hmm... for your tags I'm going to have to say to work on the text. I've read somewhere that some of the most basic looking texts the best, and of course near the focal. The FC Code one, for example, doesn't stand out too much. The Torterra text is hard to read. You do have some nice effects though, good job playing around with the dissolve feature ;D

Try using actual backgrounds instead of simply brushing around around and calling it a background. Youre not on that level yet.
When making something, see how it would like without text, because currently with text, it's not looking good. Try reviewing over the rule of thirds and see how to correctly compose your work better.

I did those brushing around and stuff, 'cause I was trying to impress the other "pro" GFX designers at a diff. forum. Their works were kinda brushing too, and I did get some pretty good ratings, but anyway thanks for the comments.
New ones (non-pokemon):

-- I finally learned how to do those transparent borders.

-- too bright, I guess? Plus I learned how to make those scanlines.

What GFX forum was that? They're certainly not pro if they gave you good ratings. They're probably not even classed as being Moderate or Low Moderate. And you shouldn't want to impress ANYONE but yourself.

Your latest ones are a tiny step up from your stuff. Try using actual backgrounds for the time being, instead of brushing around to get a background. The FMA sig is the best out of the 3. You surely have improved on the lighting on it, separate form the rest of your sigs.

The FMA signature is the best out of all of them. I really did not hang around the art place in Pokestation. I winced when I saw most of the tags. There were only a handful of people whose tags were really good.

These are great, though the text on the banner with Mudkip and Swampert on it doesn't really look good to me.

I agree with everything Jytz said, but to add one- I wouldn't even be using pokemon or any cartoon type renders in the first place. Use real life, and take a look at some of the galleries here. None of PB's artists are pro yet, but to tell you the truth we have a higher standard of art than the forum you've been on :F

Tips I use:

-I rarely put text on a sig
-I go to pro level art forums
-I use Photoshop
-I used to read tuts when I was your level
-I'd download tons of resources
-Find your own unique style

And if making sigs arent working out, then take up a different program for graphic art.

-Cinema 4D: Creating unbound 3-d objects and models. You can also animate and the codes are very similar to using Flash.

-Pixel Art (MS Paint or S.P.A.M.): Creating art, pixel-by-pixel. Very tough and time-consuming, but the results are vast. You may need to look up on analogy also.

There are tons of other graphic programs you can take up. And then after you've gotten pretty good at it, you can then go back to sig work and your sig work will indisputably be much better.
