RE: My Leaf Green Team

I'd say to go over to the islands to train, quests are really the easiest way to train.

Ditch Blast Burn on Charizard also, Blast Burn may be powerful, but recharging really limits you and you can get more with 2 attacks (And those 2 attacks will probably have more PP than 5). How far did you get in the league the first time that you did it, what were you weak against that you found, this could really help in the critique and help of this team.

The rest of your team is pretty good, but on Hitmonlee, there really isn't a better move than strength, I'd recommend an HM slave if you really need strength the rest of the game.

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Do you have any Water TMs that can replace Starmie's Water Pulse? It's a very weak move considering the stage that you're at.

RE: My Leaf Green Team

You could put Sunny Day on Victreebel to replace Razor Leaf, to activate Chlorophyll, and to not waste a turn charging Solarbeam, especially since Victreebel doesn't have the greatest of Defenses.

You could put Thunderbolt on Starmie over Water Pulse, since you lack any Electric type moves.
You could put Sludge Bomb on Nidoking to give it another STAB move.

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Thanks guy.I'll probably take blast burn off. There are better moves.I only got too loreli or whatever her name is.I got killed.I had Hitmonlee up front.I thought he could take out 1 or 2 ice guys with brick break but surf and ice beam took him out with ease.I might get rid off strength. But im not goona get an Hm Slave. Not a big fan of those.

Pokevortex,I got rid of water pulse and replaced it with Thunderbolt. That will probably help take out Dewong and lapras.

Paddy,I wiil do that.I was thinking of doing that. That will probably do me bettet.Interesting.Sludge bomb.don't call me a noob paddy but whats a STAB.I'm trying to get into competetive pokemon but i dont really have all the terms down.

RE: My Leaf Green Team

STAB is a move that is the same type as a Pokemon's type that will get a 50% power boost e.g Blastoise, a Water type, would get a power boost in its Surf, a Water type move, but not on its Earthquake, a Ground type move. A Swampert, however, would get a boost on both of those attacks, due to it being a dual typed Water/Ground Pokemon.

RE: My Leaf Green Team

@paddy185 Thanks, that's a good explanation of it! I've seen many mentionings of STAB on Bulbapedia, and meant to look it up, but always forgot.

You can try to level up, at the Ilse's, and also remember to buy a good amount of revives, and Full restores. The rest is strategising, or just luck. =P

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Ehh you can battle every trainer in the game i did that and when i challenged the elite 4 my charizard was like level 97 and i did other training

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Give your Victerbell a Pyschic move like,Pyschic or Dream Eater

I don't know what your Starmie stats are but replace water pulse with Thunderbolt.
Frenzy plant and Hydro Cannon are the only moves I'll accept. But Blast Burn on Charizard is not good. It ain't a good sweeping move.

I under trained my pokemon once on FireRed. And they were on lv 40 when I got to the Elite 4. So I just started over. I was playing so lazy :/ were you playing lazy?

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Victreebel can't even learn any Psychic-type offensive moves. Leech Life is Victreebel's only offensive move that is not Normal-type or STAB'd - its best attack is Sludge Bomb.
...just pointing that out. Victreebel and Persian are not the best choices for team, and Hitmonlee could be a little better. Charizard's set is practically terrible - you never want Blast Burn on it, and if you have Fly you don't even need Slash. Heck, Charizard doesn't really need Fly either...

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Do you have a problem with Nidoking learning Megahorn?

RE: My Leaf Green Team

Start Over. Start your team over, start your game over. Your team is bad,and you used your TMs on your pokemon to early. Before I use a TM, I always go on serbii and check like 3 times a day. But that's just me.

One time I gave Ariel Ace to Swellow and Steel Wing to Skarmary. I was being to impatient (young and stupid). Your situation is different. You gave TMs to weak pokemon.
