My Player Reputation Amendments

There are always ways to improve the My Player Reputation system so this will act as a book of amendments. Since there are more amendments than initially expected, it's better to keep them all in one thread. Look here for all of the latest updates in the system. I will link each amendment to this post.

Amendment I - Reference Restriction

Amendment I - Reference Restriction
--------

In effect from: 12-09-2007

It has come to my attention that it is possible to have several little trades with one person in one day to increase your refs. From now on, you can only get one ref in each category. That doesn't mean that you can't trade or battle more than once in a day. It basically says that it can't count for more than one ref. This also applies to trades and battles you did the day before. If you make two or more little trades with someone in one day, only one can count. Even on the next day, you cannot give a ref for an extra trade from the prior day. The only time that you can give a ref for a prior trade is if you haven't given someone a ref already. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.

Amendment II - Tallying Adjustment

Amendment II - Tallying Adjustment
--------

In effect from: 12-13-2007

As much as trading is a great thing, taking advantage of it in order to boost your ref count is way out of line. When comparing this reputation system to the TCG reputation system, the number of refs in this one will far surpass the number of refs in that one. That's why I'm amending the process. You can only receive one ref for each category a week from one person. That means that someone cannot post in your rep thread until seven days have passed after their last post. This will limit the amount of small trades made in order to tally up their refs quicker. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.

Amendment III - Individual Value Battles

Amendment III - Individual Value Battles
--------

In effect from: 12-15-2007

I have decided that IV battles cannot count towards your refs since it isn't an actual battle. The player checking the IVs typically disconnects at the end of it, which cannot be considered a complete battle. In essense, even the most unreliable player can be given a positive ref for an IV battle since there is only so much time needed to check IVs. Additionally, its an easy way to get a quick refs, which is violating the solemnity of this system. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.

Amendment IV - Timing Adjustment

Amendment IV - Timing Adjustment

In effect from: 12-21-2007

Amendment II states that you must wait a week before receiving another ref in the same category. Since that is a rather large time lapse, which is why I am repealing that specific part of Amendment II. I'm changing it to 48 hours. As long as the last ref in a particular category was given more than 48 hours prior, you can receive another ref. This will help boost activity, but still limit the amount of ref spammers. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.

Amendment V - Comment Quotation

Amendment V - Comment Quotation
--------

In effect from: 12-28-2007

This is a feature you will all appreciate. I realize that many people don't actually skim through everyone's entire rep thread, so I will be quoting the most positive or negative comments on the first post. This will allow anyone to read the opinions of other people without looking for comments. Additionally, it will make it easier for new members that don't tend to read anything. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.

Amendment VI - Negative References

--------
Amendment VI - Negative References
--------

In effect from: 01-11-2008

The purpose of this amendment is to clarify and set forth the rules for giving a negative reference. When you give a negative reputation for a trade, it must be related to hacking, scamming, or neglect. When posting the negative reference, present your evidence and I will determine if it is just. If there isn't substantial evidence of one above the previous stated reason, then the negative reference will become null and void. When you give a negative reputation for a battle, it must be related to an infraction of the battling rules, hacking, or disconnection. For the latter, it must be clear that the disconnection was done on purpose. If a match has absolutely no lag and a disconnection happens right after a specific move or KO, then there is no question about the disconnection being made on purpose. If a match has lag and a disconnection happens, then the matter will be settled over PMs between the two combatants. If an agreement cannot be settled upon, then I will intervene. Proof of hacking is in setting up a trade immediately after a battle. If they decline to do so after a match, then you will be allowed to give a negative reference without checking, unless I override it. I'm allowed to override without a thorough check with a trade because some people don't take into account EVs, IVs, and Natures. As for an infraction of the battling rules, if a player does so, you should not disconnect on them. You should continue playing the match in its entirety and shut off the game after the match is done if you don't want the match to count. Don't do shut off the game during a match because then they have legal grounds for slapping you with a negative reference too, despite them having violated the rules. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.

Amendment VII - Reference History

--------
Amendment VII - Reference History
--------

In effect from: 01-14-2008

This is another feature I will be putting into action that will increase the success of this system. Since some members might look through a rep thread to see who someone has traded with to determine their reliability, I will be inserting a list on to the first post that includes a list of references. This will clue member's in on just how reliable someone is. If a member has a long list of members in their history, you know for sure that they're reliable to trade or battle with. Reputations will be put alongside each member listed in the history. The purpose of that is to show everyone what kind of members the player has been trading and battling with. I will go through and make all of the necessary changes.
