(Extremely sorry for the jumbled look of the chart, i'm trying to make it right but can't)
Well, the list above shows the number of pokemons in each type. This summarises as follows:
Most numer of pokemon of a srecific type- 91 in water
Least no. of pokemon in a specific type- 18 in ghost with a close call to dragon (19)
Most no. of d/p pokemon in a specific type- 18 in normal
Least no. of d/p pokemon in specific type- 5 in fire
Most numer of pokemon of a srecific type in 3 prev. gens-77 in water
Least no. of pokemon in a specific type- 10 in ghost
What interests me most in this stat. is the no. of fire pokes. We only have 33.
Whereas we have 91 in water and 54 in grass. So, u see fire as a starter element really is not that pronouncing!!
Well, if u think a bit deep, it's not that surprising really; its normal that we have huge no. of water pokemon. There are so many species living in rivers and oceans to take ideas from. Also there are a good number of plants and plant-eaters to be turned into pokemons.
But where to get ideas for fire pokemons??
Its just too obvious that normal comes second. I actually thought that we will have most no. of normal pokemons. Anyway, flying type comes third. Nothing unusual there either.
But then we have psychic, poison and ground type before BUG type! I have not done a inner count but I bet psy., psn. an gd. types are mainly duo-types rather than pure of that type. Why I am saying this is that, i've heard the creators of pokemon actually got the theme of pokemon from the popular hobby of BUG-collection(i may be wrong though)!
So i thought we may well have a good number of bugs. I think they are outdone in number mainly because maximum bugs are duo-types(either bug/flying or bug/poison).
Electric, ft, steel and dark types comes next....hmmm...they are justly placed i suppose.
But i thought we had more ice types than steel or dark anyway!
No wonder the least number we have are dragons and ghosts(We do lack ideas there!). So, no wonder we have them so less in number.
Let me know your opinions. And if you people want I can do more counts and publish here!
( I am thinking of counting pure types now!)
