I did a review a while ago on Pokemon Black and White, I'll be posting the link at the bottom of this post. I wouldn't say I was blown away, but I really think The mechanics of the new games really show the future direction for pokemon. Ya maybe the pokemon look lame, but look at the Gamers side of it, it doesn't feel like a Pokemon game, there's no easy breeze leveling, no shop support, and it really hits with an RPG style of play. Here's my Review of Pokemon Black and White. Please don't be afraid to comment or give feed back. http://www.madoverdose.com/2011/05/bellas-blurts-pokemon-black-and-white/

Most people on Pokebeach don't think the Pokemon look lame, this is a Pokemon website, after all.
The leveling is the same with the other Pokemon games, too.
All the Pokemon games (excluding spin-offs) are RPGs.

I just want to say that they did change the way Experience Points are given out in these games. You get lower experience the higher your level is compared to a lower level Pokemon whereas before, all Pokemon would receive the same Exp no matter how high you were.

That being said, I think this is one of the easiest Pokemon games ever and one of the easiest games I've ever played lol.

dmaster out.

Most of your "facts" are pretty untrue. "With high evolutions of 69 and 67, this game really tests your patience." That's false, the highest level evo is around 59. "The battles are extremely difficult. With unfairly balanced gym leaders, Cheren’s Gary Oak moments, the Vicious N, and the totally fucked up Elite 4, completing the main story took hours." All I saw was whine, want some cheese with that? The Gym Leaders weren't unfairly balanced at all, I mean if you say they are balanced one minute then say they are unfairly balanced the next, you contradict yourself completely. Cheren's Gary Oak moments? Lolwut. And when was N vicious? Only when you battled him after he beat the current champion. The Elite 4 were supposed to have low levels. If you don't know the obvious reason then you should consider replaying the game, and if the main story took hours, then how come all I saw was whine, whine, whine some more, battles were hard, etc.?

Actually, Zweilous evolves at, like, level 72 or something like that. But I agree that the game was pathetically easy, I took maybe 50 damage total from all of the E4 combined, beat N without losing a single pokemon (not even using the legendary) every single time, gym leader's had pathetically underleveled, weak pokemon whose weaknesses were so easy to abuse (same with cheren). B/W was definately the easiest pokemon game I have ever played. So really, not a review I would agree with.

Sigh, at least do research. Zweilous evolves at 64. Also this review's incredibly biased.

For us Pokenerds, the article makes the game seem far harder than it may seem. To your casual nine year old who picks up their first Pokemon game, Bella's article is extremely accurate.

Thanks, I had to aim it at the common gamer, and in this generation Most people who play pokemon are in that age range. I might do a more elaborate cover up of the game soon though.

:(I do agree with you that it wasn't the best game that Gamefreak could have produced. I do like the region I just wish I could say the same for the Pokemon:(

You missed a few details.... The games severely lacked obstacles. For example no objects blocking routes, no missing gym leaders, and no backtracking... The game lacked a bunch of this. Its still a cool article, though. :)

Between that and people getting back into Pokémon after not playing it since Red and Blue or Gold and Silver. When Diamond and Pearl were new, I was in university and people were just getting back into it. Some were baffled at what you're supposed to do; to them, Pokémon had become far too complicated. (This is referring to in-game.) Game Freak deliberately simplified going through the game to appeal to these people too, who might get stuck at something like Mt. Coronet or Wellspring Cave.
