PokéBeach will be allowing name changes again! For all of you who have been wanting to change your username, it is now possible once again. This is a feature I have wanted to bring back for a while and it is my pleasure to offer it to members again. Please see the name changes thread in order to get your name changed. There are slight restrictions this time, but I don't feel any of them are unreasonable.

In addition to that, I would like to announce the first Community Skype Saturday! On November 26th at 7 PM EST/4 PM PST join me and other staff members from the forums to discuss PokeBeach and things you would like to see! You can also ask the staff members about their lives or any questions you may have! There will be discussion back and forth, so if you have a mic use it! We want to hear your opinions and brainstorm ideas with you! Don't worry, we don't bite so please don't be intimidated. Join in! To be added to the Skype group at that time, please PM me your skype username. Note that the meeting will start at 7 PM and if you are late you will need to message me on Skype to be added to the call.
 
I must see this name change thread NOW. I shall verify these claims myself!
 
I'm glad to see this return again, although a member already has the name I really want. :mad:

Never thought I'd see the day name changes would return. I'm totally going to be one of the first in line to get my name changed!

Oh.

1 name change per year.

You must leave your previous user name in your signature for 2 weeks after your name change to allow people to get used to your new name and recognize you.

If you have a trade rep thread, you will need to link to it so it can be renamed with your new username.

No more than 4 numbers will be allowed in a name that is changed.

Any particularly distasteful names will not be allowed. (Potty humor, insults, etc.)

edit: In other news I have to be at league on Saturday to keep score. Sorry broskis.
 
Oh wow.... Name changes are something that I thought I would never see come back, that and Junior Mods. Too bad I am satisfied with my username :p
 
If I don't go to California this weekend, I'll be there for the Skype call. Also, I'm really excited for name changes, great to see them back.
 
I wasn't expecting name changes to be back. Most people will be glad to see this back, since it gives them another chance to choose another username.
 
...wait a minute. I just realized something.

Shouldn't there also be a post-count restriction on it too? i.e. you can only have a visible post count of X or higher (250 or so might not be a bad number).

Just my two cents.
 
Had a feeling this was coming ;)

Now...i'm not even sure if I even want my name changed anymore D:

Not a bad idea DNA, that should be implemented. Like say 100 posts or 250 posts to get a name change. It would prevent people signing up and then posting in the thread saying they want a different username.

They'd have to earn it.

Actually, this is a very good idea. I've seen members that joined less than a day ago posting in the "If you could change your username, what would it be" thread. Like...you joined less than a day ago...

I was wanting to see name changes come back, so this is like a dream come true.

Thanks for bringing name changes back.

One question, because I wasn't around when name changes weren't around. Do we log in with the username we registered with (for example, I'd log in with Bippa201 everytime), or do we register with the new username after its been changed.

A good idea indeed.

I'm just pointing this out because several people who have had <10 posts have posted in the "Have a simple question" thread asking/wanting to change their nickname, when realistically if you just joined you shouldn't want to change it already.
Should put an end to the questions...hopefully.

just trying to help out over here from the sidelines :p

It's great you brought this up DNA! Because now it'll prevent those new members, who just signed up, to change their usernames!

At least, until they earn it.
 
It will also reduce spammy posts made by those who have just joined and want a name change immediately. Nice idea DNA.
