Discussion Natu OP?

Wut.

Okay, this may seem like a weird topic, but hold it together.

Here's how this question came to be: I was playing one of my friends at league, and he was using Wobbufet/Bats/Banette. I'm trying to build this deck myself, so at the beginning of the game I asked him about his techs. He said that he used 2 Natu ROS in his list. I was a little bit startled by this, since Natu is a 40HP basic that I thought to be garbage, and yet my friend had put in in as an attacker! The match began. I can't remember how he did it, but my opponent was able to get out a Banette (ROS) Now, I was playing Night March, so the attack my opponent would normally use with Banette (evolution jammer) wouldn't have any affect, since I ran no evolution cards. But he used it as an attacker, since he had the dimension valley out and a mystery energy on it. He used "curse deeply" to almost kill a Pumpkaboo. I was able to get the damaged Pumpkaboo out of the way (into a new Pumpkaboo, without damage) and then I passed. My opponent then benched a Natu, dropped an energy on it, put down a Crobat and a Golbat (hitting Pumpkaboo) and then retreated the banette to take a clean 2 prizes off my Pumpkaboo. Yikes.

If you're wondering how the rest of the game went, I wasn't able to set up quick, and my opponent killed a Shaymin for 3 prizes with a Natu, (with bat damage of course) I was able to come back however, clearing his field with a clutch Vespiqueen and then playing Lysandre for his benched Shaymin for the win.

This was a very interesting encounter since I had never seen an ancient trait make a pokemon that would be non-viable any day into a destroyer of sorts. Natu almost cleaned my clock.

For those of you who are new, or just those of you who have no idea what my opponents real deck strategy was, i'll say it: You use Wobuffet to wall until you have a Banette, retreat using mystery energy (or any other way), and then begin to use evolution jammer to prevent your opponent from evolving their Pokes. You also accumulate bat damage while doing this, knocking out the smaller Pokemon who can't evolve, and leaving some of them for late game, where you sweep with yes, Natu. As an alternative attacker you have Wobbufet, who can help with the big EX decks with his attack.

So what do you guys think? can Natu be used in other situations, or is he a one-hit wonder?
