Damage counters are not effected by Special Metal energies, Weakness, Resistance, DRE, etc.. right?

Meaning if I had aggron out with 1 special metal energy, it wouldn't be effected by Flygons Sand Damage.

Is that correct?
 
1. Sand damage is for Benched Pokémon.
2. Sand Damage is for Basic Pokémon.
3. If you meant an Aron with a Special Metal, it will take damage.
 
Ok I didn't give a good example, lol. My point is, Placing Damage counters is different than doing damage.

So Special Metals, DRE, weakness and resistance DON'T reduce placing damage counters. Right?

Let's try this Example.

Aggron w/ Special Metal vs. Gastly and Pain Payback.

If Gastly moves his damage counter to Aggron, the special metal WON'T take away that damage.
 
Correct. Also, DRE reduces bench damage and metal reduces all damage you take (opponet, your pokemon, and even self-damage).
