Needs help!

I have never played a match in the tcg,but I do collect cards,so I really don't know anything about playing it :(So do you think I should start playing now as the D/P cards are coming out, or should I scrap the idea.What I'd really like is a good deck to start me off,if you can help please do!Thanks.

Yes, go with DP and on.
If you buy a Terra Firma/Inferno Zone/Royal Frost deck, it comes with a rulebook so i say go for it.
Try and join a league if you can so the leader there can help you out with your deck! You also get to play the game, trade cards, and earn small prizes so i highly sugest you start out at a league. Find one in your area at www.pokemontcg.com

However though every time you play a single round of the TCG your cards depreciate very slowly. If you want to play the TCG but don't want your cards damaged from fingerprints etc buy see through card sleeves. You usually get 100 sleeves for about $1.00. The only thing you have to worry about is bends but other than that buy sleeves to avoid depreciation of your cards. I don't play but I know some of the rules from experienced trainers here on the forums.:)
 
I say go play it.A good deck to start with is what I nicknamed "stall revival".It`s called stall deck.It uses rhyperior,buffer pieces,and tyranitar.It`s designed to stall and deck your oppenent. It`s easy to use so It`s good to start with.
 
If you want to play the TCG just make sure your cards are protected from damage at all costs.:)
 
speaking of which.... i need a new deck recipie for terra firma... or any of the new decks...
 
Oh, well, then you've got a problem.. well, you should read the rulebook, go to a local league, and they'll teach you.

Be sure to buy a pre-constructed deck of 60 cards. You must have 60 Pokemon cards to play the game.:)
 
I personally think that you should go along with a theme deck and ask the Organizer and the other players for their advice on what to play. But Mario and Quicketurne are good starters.
 
Yes I do have alot of cards(Although Some of them might be unplayable when D/P comes out, I have a salamence ex) but I don't know any good decks.
 
quicketune=4/4 kricketune DP2 line and usually 4 Carnavine DP Mario= Lucario DP Machamp DP both decks play cessation crystal
 
Well I got Inferno zone( My first D/P set) and I nearly know how to play off by heart, but now I need to know some strategies :)
 
There are infinite stradegies out there.What other cards do you have that`s from hp-on.
Perhaps quickitune I suggest.does 80 damage turn 2.It was created to win early.Unfortanetly mario and krickitune are good early game but later with mario`s limited damage It can get hard.Krickitune unfortanetley has weakness to fire and 90 hp can cause you to start to lost late game.
