Might be jumping the gun on this one a little, but Professor Oak's New Theory is getting reprinted in the form of a Cynthia supporter. I found about this through google first, but here's the official tweet.

The Japanese text matches Professor Oak's New Theory's Japanese text character for character, so there's no need for translation confirmation. As a refresher, this effect shuffles your hand back into your deck and draw 6.

So yeah. Draw support ratios are going to change, and we don't have to worry as much about having good draw support without finnicky conditions after rotation kills Sycamore and N(I know it's still early).

For now, my gut tells me to run 3/3/3 Sycamore/N/Cynthia to have the perfect balance of all types of draw support at a good enough quantity to allow discarding them and naturally drawing them, but I don't think that's a universal cut.

I will say that I think she will be replacing the "tech" support choice in people's decks at the very least. Between her or Mallow or Skyla, I would probably rather run Cynthia every time.

Would love to hear people's thoughts.
 
Definjtely going to be a staple. I don't think it replaces Mallow or Skyla though since they're more search than draw. Mallow+Zoroark-GX is still good. I think 4 Sycamore, 2 N, and 2-3 Cynthia will be pretty standard, maybe with 2 Lusamine to retrieve them. I'm thinking of running 4 Sycamore, 2 N, 3 Cynthia, 1 Brigette, 2 Lusamine, 3 Guzma for a Supporter line, along with 3 Lele, and maybe Oranguru or Zoroark GX/Octillery.
 
If you're a "blinger" and want to save a bit of cash, you should definitely buy a playset of full-arts before rotation, because this is definitely going to be a 4-of in every single deck afterwards.
 
This years rotation will only kill N, not sycamore.
BKT, BKP, GEN, and FAC will rotate most likely, considering it was 4 sets rotating every year.

Sycamore got a full art in STS, which SHOULD, (could be wrong) rotate in 2019, along with EVO, SUM, and GRI.

So after this year, itll probably be 3-4 sycamore, 2-4 cynthia, and possibly 1-2 lillie

Hopefully though, they release a card that does the same thing as N, at least make it effect both players. (Ilima could be a replacement?)

Nah, they rotate blocks. They'll rotate all the BREAKs and the format will be SM-on for 2018, its almost certain.
 
Oh no....

I like this, but having too much supportwes in a deck doesnt make me feel right. I mean, 4 Sycamore, 2N, 3 Cynthia, 3 Guzma, and 2 Lusamine (its what I feel people will want to run) is too much. Most decks these days don't have too much room for that much draw support. You are going to use Lusamine (which is a supporter) to grab supporters, which isn't great.

Overall, its a great card. I don't like chnaging my draw though. Maybe one of these 1-2 of these to replace N in certain deck....
 
That doesnt make sence, why would they rotate xy-phf one year then prc to aor this year?
it was 4 years, doesnt make sence to get rid of 6 whole sets

The format would be amazing with sts onward

It also makes no sence to give sycamore a full art in STS if it wasnt to keep him alive post 2018 rotation, because if they only rotate 4 blocks, then STS wouldnt be rotated




(and volcanion would live another day, which im fine with, I play ninetales)

Idk why they rotated XY-PHF, but they rotated PRC-AOR to get rid of all the Ancient Trait Pokemon and BREAKthrough is the first BREAK set (the start of a block).

If this is for SM-on then yeah this seems pretty accurate. Id say 4 Cynthia for sure though.

They do seem to like some cards like Skyla and N, they refuse to stop reprinting them lol.
 
"Discard your hand and draw 7" has always been a staple of the TCG. If Professor Sycamore does rotate, we will probably get another Supporter just like him.

Did the HGSS and DPPt eras have a "Discard your hand and draw 7" Supporter though?
