ORAS New (Mega) Pokémon in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire: Your Hopes and Expectations

I would really like to see Mega Luxray. Generation 4 needs some better Megas, not Bunnies!

And it's Ability? Multiscale. Awwwwwww yeeeeaaaaahhh!!

I think, just from the trailers, that there are at least 8 more Megas we can expect to see.
Those being Shiftry, Walrein, Ludicolo, Flygon, Milotic, Slaking, Zangoose, and Seviper.
The last two are a bit iffy, but I definitely think the first six I listed have the strongest possibility.
But CoroCoro should start leaking in about a week, and you know how they're pretty much gonna leak all the new Megas in that issue.
So we can look forward to seeing the final reveal of who got a mega, and who did not.

I still see raichu as a possibility. I don't know when but it is eventually going to happen it seems. Unless they want to leave the pikachu line the same as always to keep it original.

RE: New (Mega) Pokémon in Omega Ruby and Alpha SapphiYour Hopes and Expectations

Honestly, I feel that in order for a Pokemon to qualify for getting a Mega, it has to meet at least one of the following criteria, and if you match that to all of the Pokemon that have been confirmed for Megas so far, it is a pretty good scale.

1. The Pokemon has to be considered popular. Or at the very least a re-accuring Pokemon in other media forms, like the Anime, the TCG, and even the horrible Trading Figure Game that nobody heard of. (Example: Tyraniter, as it is a Pseudo-Legendary, or Pidgeot, as it has earned lots of fans from being a cool Pokemon that can be caught early on.)

2. The Pokemon has horrible stats or just has nothing unique about it, and a Mega would help it in competitive play. (Example: Beedrill and Glalie)

3. The Pokemon in question has a peculiar design, and a Mega would help fix it. (Example, Lopunny is based off of the Playboy Bunny, so giving it a Mega that made it a capable fighter helped derail that attention. Another example is Ampharos. As it evolves, it loses it's wool, but it's Mega brings it back in the form of elegant, draconic hair. Awwwww yyyyeeeeeaaaaahhh!)

Well this kinda covers every single pokemon in the entire game so its unsurprising that all the megas meet this criteria :p either theyre powerful or popular and can get a mega to appease fans, or not powerful or not popular and can get a mega to make them viable.

I think we will see 3 or 4 more megas in ORAS at most. To be honest I wouldnt be too surprised if they didnt add any more megas apart from the ones already confirmed, because I swear we got something like double the megas that we got in XY already. not that Im complaining, more megas is always cool! (mega shiftry is surely a given, but hopefully they do some more mega lopunny upgrades to improve mons like girafarig, stantler, torkoal, mightyena, and the worst one of all..... LEDIAN.)

And just my personal wish since gen 3 was the generation I first owned (despite playing blue and gold before), I would love megas for my first ever main pokemon, breloom and donphan :D and i know breloom at least has a shot at it because gamefreak doesnt hate him

Poor ledian is going to need more than a mega to be viable. Maybe a regular evolution first? The only thing that's certain is that the little guy needs all the help he can get to be taken seriously. I think it's design is pretty neat and one can only hope that a mega is gonna make him look even cooler and badass. Other "weak" and cool looking pokemon that I'd like to see getting megas are Ariados and Lanturn (this last one needs to become a dolphin already for God's sake! One way or another imo)

wow, those 3 are essentially confirmed now.

Flygon and Milotic are already the main fan-favourites for next megas, and both belong to important story-characters, namely the secret-base ranger and Wallace, who is bound to show up for some postgame battle with his Emerald team somewhere.
And Hariyama is featured in the #10 mission of the demo.

Still no hint of any Electric mega though? hmm.

Yeah, Game Freak has been severely lacking on the Lightning coverage, which makes me really sad. Gen 6 had Ampharos, which was awesome, and Manectric, who is pretty good. Considering how unplayable Lightning types are in the TCG, I think there just MUST be some hate towards Lightning Types.

Nah, that's just due to the "Lightning"-type being just about Electric pokemon (whereas others are about as many as 3 types), which aren't that plenty to begin with.

Gahh, were so close to CoroCoro leaks!
All this speculation.
And the seven unnamed mega evolutions that are still unrevealed...
Come on Shiftry, Ludicolo, Milotic, Flygon, Hariyama, Walrein, amd Slaking!!

Wut

Are you referring to the demo dump which (for a time) believed to have seven empty items slots for Mega Stones? I will kindly refer you to this post, which has an updated item spread.

Not that I don't believe at least of few of those will be getting Megas, of course.

This will be the last time leak for Omega Ruby , Alpha Sapphire . I'm still looking forward to Mega Cradily and Mega Armaldo . Aerodactyl get one mega . This two become a must since they are the signature fossil pokemon for Hoenn region .

Please come out already CoroCoro . I can't wait for the leak any longer LOL :p

Cradily, Armaldo, flygon, milotic, tropius, are all pokemon I really hope to see in this corocoro..

I'm very positivie we will get new megas still reguardless of demo coding and that maybe even after this coro we will still have a couple to find ourselves in the full release.

I'm really expecting them to make this corocoro count.. or in other words throwing us with several highly requested pokemon we've been waiting for.

Speaking of Electric Megas, a Mega Luxray would be good, specially to fix that Speed stats cause I don't get why they made it so slow...

I'm not expecting more than maybe 2 more gen 3 megas. I'd think they'd have shown us most of those by now with this being gen 3 remakes. So if there is like a dozen left to go, they'll likely be more of the other gens.

But there is definitely going to be at least something Electric.
Could be Raichu, Magnezone, Luxray or perhaps Lanturn or something..

A Mega Poliwrath with No Guard would be nice.
100% Hypnosis and Dynamicpunch omg

It's been in Politoeds shadow for way too long.

No, that's not what I was referring to.

On another note, I'd really like to see Mega Plusle and Minun happen.
I know that, based on the other Pokemon that have been teased at, this is most likely NOT going to happen, but here are my thoughts on them.

They would become Electric/Fairy type, and get an increase in speed, special attack, and defense, whilst their attack and special defense would decrease.
I'm thinking they could keep their current abilities, Plus and Minus, but maybe beef them up a lot, to make them more specifically compatible with each other, because they're not the only Pokemon that can have that ability. So maybe they get new abilities, called Huge Plus and Huge Minus. Dunno.

Personally, I don't see any more GEN 1 Pokemon getting Megas until maybe next gen.
We all know that the third game in this gen will release more Megas, but I don't think GEN 1 Pokemon will be looked at much, and after all the GEN 3s getting megas this go-around, I have a feeling that Game Freak is gonna leave them alone for a while after this.

Considering the lack of Gen 2, 4, 5, and 6 Megas, it stands to reason that those respective Pokemon should be the next focus of the next generation, as I'm sure they will be doing Gen 4 remakes in 2017.

We all know we're going back to Kalos next year. Do you think that it's possible that Kalos native Pokemon will be getting Megas? OMG MEGA PYROAR.

I think its the only way we can actually go back there without it being slightly stale. Some Kalos mons that should get Megas imo:
-Starters. These are probably the most likely to happen, since everyone knows and loves them. Also because it gives them a new toy (as opposed to b2w2 where they were exactly the same)
after that, pretty much just things like Malamar, Hawlucha, Pyroar, Heliolisk... stuff that can use a boost.

No, that's not what I was referring to.
Then would you kindly explain why you seem confident there's going to be seven more Megas?

While I don't like it, it's perfectly possible that we get no more Pokemon. Look at BW2. They are similar in function to ORAS and BW2 had all of their new Pokemon forms revealed before the game came out.

Considering that we haven't gotten a Zygarde in the TCG yet, a Pokemon Z game is pretty much 100% in for 2015. While I can't predict what ORAS will have in terms of Megas, I am assuming that Pokemon Z will have new Megas specifically oriented around Generation 5 and 6.
