I'm going to make a maze out of pokedolls. Spheal with it.

However, my one concern I still have is the item limit. Im not exactly positive on how many bytes of data a QR code can hold, but that might give some insight into how many items can be placed- which Im hoping is at least 100. If its any less, it might be difficult designing truly unique "gyms".

Oof, took me a bit to realize you meant Super-Secret Base instead of Super Smash Bros. That's going to get confusing. :X

QR codes are apparently simpler than I thought: Each image is a grid of pixels, with each pixel counting as one bit. Looking at this example QR code from the ORAS site:
I count 161 pixels by 161 pixels, which is 25921 pixels total. 25921 bits / 8 = 3,240 bytes, which roughly equate to one character each. That's how much space we're dealing with here.
My guesses for how much space the stuff inside an SSB takes up:
Location of SSB - 16 bytes
Data on the base's owner + other "gym" trainers - 200 bytes
Team of base's owner - 900 bytes (boxed Pokemon in Gen 5 apparently took up 136 bytes. I'm assuming trainer Pokemon are counted as boxed, and that there's some rounding up here or there because it's Gen 6)
Teams of two other "gym" trainers - 1200 bytes (assuming they have four Pokemon each)
Personalized greetings for visitors - 350 bytes
That leaves 574 bytes. Let's say each decoration takes up 15 bytes of space--that's 38 decorations total. Way less than your 100+, but to be fair, where would you put all those decorations in a cramped SSB?
Anyway, the music. Nice stuff. Not as flute-y as the old Fortree, but I'll get used to it.
