New Player - What To Build From My Collection?

Hey guys.

I'm just starting with playing the physical version of the trading card game, have been playing online for a little over than a year. I kind of want to start to play in my local league (Wich plays standard btw) and compete a little.

So far I don't have a lot of great cards or expensive ones, but i have the following;

Xerneas VS Yveltal BA
Sky Guardian theme deck
Pikachu And Suicune 2 player deck

Other honorable mentions of cards;

Xerneas Break
Flareon EX (generations)
Venosaur EX (Generations)
2x Raichu (Generations)
Pyroar BREAK
Bronzong BREAK
Gardevoir EX
Alakazam EX (Secret rare)
Some Gengar lines (XY-Breakthrough)
Blaziken EX


Any advice on what I can build with this? Or singles I should look into buying?
I really like dark or psychic themed decks, but atm I can't afford Shaymins.

I think Xerneas BREAK, Alakazam-EX and Mega Gardevoir-EX variants are fairly competitive at present, so you may like to take a look at those. You could also check out this article, which provides a neat budget deck option (Lucario/Klefki) that doesn't use Shaymin-EX. It also gives a bit of insight into the how in building budget decks. If you find a strategy you particularly like, I suggest you construct a decklist and post it in the Deck Garage forum for feedback.

Otherwise, I definitely suggest obtaining playsets of the staples, including VS Seeker, Professor Sycamore, N, Ultra Ball, Lysandre, Level Ball and Trainer's Mail are all good cards that you should obtain.
