BW/BW2 NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!!!!!

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

Overconfidence sounds like a very good ability.

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

I am very curious to see Reshiram and Zekrom's special moves. There is so much possibility of them being super epic because of their typing. I'm ready for a Beast Electric and Fire type move.

Reshiram/Zekrom's abiltys sound ridiculous. I hope they will be. It's nice to have a change from "Pressure". That was getting so old.

Overconfidence sounds nice too.

I know right! Though I am sticking to my theory that Crocodune is fairly weak thus why it can have this ability.

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

There already exists an ability that increases STAB. It is called Adaptability.

Who would have ever thought some Pokemon who is not called Plusle or Minun have Plus or Minus as an ability? How strange.

Sweep Slap is probably fairly weak, but that is still fine since what's-his-face has Technician. Here's hoping it has a nice added effect.

Telekinesis makes the opponent float, which seems largely useless. There will likely be a move or something that does extra damage to any opponent that is not on the ground.

"Gear Saucer," from its description, sounds like a multi-hit move. YAWN

I hope Pigeonman's new ability does something besides block Defense drops. Unless he grows up into Flying/Fighting, learns Close Combat, and this ability blocks _that_ Defense drop (how freakin' cool would that be???), it seems largely useless. Immunity to Leer. OH NOES :O

Encourage sounds a lot like it will be usable exclusively in doubles. I do not really know what it could possibly do... maybe heal your partner at a certain time? Raise their stats?

The crocodile thing sounds like it is gonna be nuts. You already know his Attack stat is gonna be high cause he's a crocodile, but if he gets Pursuit to lay the smack down on ghosts and psychics for a free boost... ho man. He will definitely become a staple on sandstorm teams.

Turbo Blaze and Teravoltage sound cool, but I can't stop comparing Turbo Blaze to Blaze. It would be tremendously lame (and pretty insane) if that was really the case - that Reshiram's Fire moves did more damage at more HP (like, say, half). Teravoltage could be the same thing, just with Electric moves. That would be pretty lame though, and I hope I am mega incorrect on this.

And finally, Wild Volt sounds a lot like Special Version of Volt Tackle. Hope I'm wrong about that, too.

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

I was thinking that Turbo Blaze and Teravoltage just increased the damage of fire and electric enormously...

But I'm more than likely wrong.

My thoughts exactly.

The only thing I've heard about Night Burst is tht it can lower the accuracy of the opponent. I really hope it can do some damage or another effect because accuracy lowering by itself isn't that good.

You should be just glad they took off pressure. Almost every mascot legendary had it:(

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

I love it how corocoro shows us Mun'ma using Telekinesis, but not the effects of it. Does anyone else wonder if they'll actually show pokemon floating in midair? Maybe they'll even do the same for gravity's effect with the flying pokemon who's sprites show them in air. That would be a very cool addition to this whole moving sprites idea.

And I see no one has really elaborated on Hihidaruma's ability Encourage. It sounds like a very good move, no matter what it means by the negation of the second effect. I'd be willing to give up the chance of burn on my opponent in exchange for a more powerful move any day. I also find it highly unlikely that what they meant was the removal of stat-changing effects such as Overheat's decrease in Special Attack, because removing that would make battles with or against a pokemon with Encourage very unfair.

I forgot Encourage. It seems like a really good ability IMO. The fact that you lose a secondary effect for more power normally wouldn't appeal to some people (Mainly those who love to use status effects), but there could be the posibility of no stat reductions as well. But, as Fire_Master mentioned, that would make battles unfair.

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

Er...not really. That just means you'll have to watch out for Hihidaruma/whatever other Pokemon that get Encourage. A STAB Overheat with boosted power and zero stat reduction does sound unfair...but this ape looks like he is physically oriented. He'll probably have low defenses as well, so a good Surf or Earthquake will take him out.

I like Overconfidence and Encourage. They soundlike they'll shake up the metagame some.

I think it's creative that Plus and Minus are being applied with other pokemon. Magnemite should have had Plus or Minus as their abilities first anyway.

Maybe telekinesis will make the opponent unable to use Ground-type moves since they are not on the ground. . . And I agree there probably will be a move that does more damage to a floating opponent

RE: NEW POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES!

If what you say about Telekinesis making Ground attacks not work is indeed true...then Game Freak is really trying to shake up the metagame. Which is fine by me.

Actually, I THOUGHT that was what it did... In double battles, you could use it to make your ally immune to ground moves. OR, you could use it on your opponent to heavily decrease evasion to almost zip.

Well, in Double Battles it would work that way. But imagine if using it on your Opponent prevented him from using Earthquake and other Ground-type moves. Basically, an inverted levitate effect. That could drastically change what Pokemon and attacks become useful for B&W's metagame.

If it does that, and there's a ground gym, it just became the easiest in the whole game.
