Raichupika's Spriting Competition​

The Introduction​
Okay, well, many members know about these Pokebeach competitions and these spiriting contests, so its nothing new. This contest will be about creating great and groovy Pokemon sprites to win the competition, you will create Pokemon and non-Pokemon sprites. Each week, you must create a sprite that matches the theme, therefore that means if you create a great sprite but does certainly not meet the requirements of the theme, chances are, you will be out. I will take up to 8 competitors and I will only let one week to sign up for the competition. This means, this contest will last for about 6 weeks as each week, someone will be eliminated. Not too hard to get, need to ask a question? Ask me via PM.​

The Theme​

You must post a sprite of... Infernape
It must be in a fighting position
It must not have a happy face expression
It must be made from scratch

No more judging spaces! Also I forgot, you mark the entries out of 100. So basically like out of 10 but add an extra 0.

Reason for joining - Wanting to test my skills
Experience - >1 year; I have judged two contests, both my own, along with competing in and winning one of my own upon request.

I'm not sure if I'll join, but I have a question about the first round, because it's not very clear.

Are we just finding a sprite of onix, and making it angry, or are we scratching it completely?

If we aren't scratching Onix like Staraptor said, this is from SoulSilver, frame 2, but with lower eyelids and cartoony flames.

What I've done:

I used the Onix Heart Gold and Soul Silver Sprite and used it too recolour the Steelix Heart Gold and Soul Silver Sprite. I then removed the spikes on Steelix and cleaned up the shape of his rocks and head to make him look more like Onix. then I added the rock on Onix's head to Steelix.

Reason for joining - Havent sprited in ages. Need practice. :F
Experience - Been in a couple of contests before.. other than that, not much.

Based on Onix's Gold/HG, Silver/SS and Pearl Pokédex entries...
-It twists and squirms through the ground. The thunderous roar of its tunneling echoes a long way.
-It rapidly bores through the ground at 50 mph by squirming and twisting its massive, rugged body.
-It squirms through the ground using its long and rugged body. It always eats while burrowing.
Onix squirms. Also, according to Bulbapedia, it is based on a Snake and an Earthworm. So, now that my sprite would make sense:

The first frame is a mixture of the Onix sprites from HG/SS, Platinum and DP.
The second frame is the same head as the first frame, with Gyarados (from DP)'s body recolored and reshaded to look more like the intended texture.
The eyes were recolored with Kirlia's eye color, and the teeth were added to the mouth (which was made bigger) by yours truly (obviously.)
Took me a while.

Reason for joining - Reasons, ah... pitiful reasons. I felt like joining and I haven't sprited in a while, so here we are, ready to oil out those rusty joints.

Experience - Been spiriting for over... 6(?) years, though I haven't recently.

Will you be active? - Yes

Do you accept the rules? - Would I be applying if I weren't? Yes of, course.
