I've been thinking for a while it would be cool to have the original 151 pokemon cards (of course I know that the actual originals are ridiculously expensive and out of the question) I thought they were doing a re run of the original cards? Is there any packs that have the original 151 pokemon?

If there isn't would it be expensive to buy original cards just the least rare of them? Looking to just collect first 151 for a display nothing fancy, just don't know the best way to do it.

No such thing as "the original 151 pokemon cards". ;)

The video games for Gen I officially have 151 Pokémon, though #151 (Mew) was only available in a lot of places through special giveaways, hacking your game, or exploiting an in-game glitch.

The original Pokémon TCG set, called the "Base Set", contained 102 cards. 69 of these are Pokémon. To get the first appearance of all the original 151 Pokémon requires you get the cards from Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, and one Black Star Promo. This is actually more than 151 Pokémon cards among these sets, as some Pokémon have multiple cards.

These original cards aren't going to be reprinted; though they are compatible with the modern game, certain mechanics which have long since been replaced are found on these cards (like Pokémon Powers instead of Abilities), many are horribly underpowered, and some (mostly Trainers) are horribly overpowered. What you can do is seek out some modern counterparts to these cards that were released in the Generations and XY - Evolutions expansions. You'll find they use the art from the originals, but most of the cards have new stats or effects.
